Well said. i think the whole idea of supporting a football team just so you can fight is sad and depressing. Don't these people have better things to do with their lives?!

Funny you should mention that Oxford game. In 15 years of following the Town that was one of only two occasions where I have been involved in any sort of trouble with opposition fans. When we came out the ground and made our way to where we had been dropped off by a local bus a large group of hooligans waded in throwing punches. What alarmed me the most was that it was impossible to tell who was Oxford and who was Swindon with all the plain clothes!

where else was there trouble The Grim Reaper? The only other incident I had the misfortune was at Ashton Gate last season coming out the ground. Waiting for my mate who had decided to use the toilet before embarking on the journey home after another defeat, some local meathead decided he was going to throw punchs at Town fans. I happened to be one of them, doing nothing more than waiting for a mate who's gone for a piss (his timing perfect as always). What really pissed me off about this was though was the local bill who didnt seem to give a toss. One of them said to me and my mate (once he was back) 'Are you Swindon?' when we replied yes he ordered us to stand with 'the rest of your lot over there'. Once moved and standing buy a fence we were all told we were being 'walked back to Temple Meads'. After an exchange of words with another less than helpful plod we told them we came by car and would be walking back to where we parked and off we went back through the mob of city wannabee chavs and lapping up their insults!
