more importantly we can't see a revenue stream to sustain the club!
he said he's normally had the conversations by now, even if the retained list isn't it officially

Under the present circumstances thats understandable as until Friday we didn't even know what league we would be in next season.
I don't think we really even know now do we?

We know that as far as the league is concerned we are promoted, as far as final position is concerned we do not yet. Is how I understand it.

Well, we know where we're goin' But we don't know where we've been And we know what we're knowin' But we can't say what we've seen And we're not little children And we know what we want And the future is certain Give us time to work it out

But I assume (and fear) that promotion depends on L1 playing ball and they seem to be unable to agree what biscuits to have let alone how to end their season, and then we have the Championship!?

I'd forgotten about Bury, I assume we end up top whether they choose WPPG or PPG?

We’re bomb proof as far as promotion is concerned. Whether we’ll have anyone to play against by the time any new season starts is another matter - ourselves included.

I assume its just going to be a case of keeping whoever we have to furloughed until October and hoping to god we can get some revenue for then, followed by a massive bun fight when a start date for the 2020-21 (provisionally at least) season begins, looks like we are going to have to fund from the playing staff...
2. Tyler Reid (DR - 2021) 3. Zeki Fryers (D/WBL - 2021) 5. Tom Broadbent (DLC - 2021) 8. Matty Palmer (MC - 2021) 10. Michael Doughty (AMC - 2022) 13. Cameron McGilp (MC - 2021) 17. Scott Twine (ST - 2021) 19. Jordan Lyden (DM - 2021) 21. Taylor Curran (DC - 2021) 24. Rob Hunt (D/WBRL - 2021) 26. Dion Conroy (c) (DC - 2021) 36. Harry Parsons (YTS) 37. Massimo Giamattei (YTS) 38. Sam Smith (GK - YTS) 39. Anthony Cheshire (YTS) 40. Toby Holland (YTS) 41. Paul Caddis (DR/MR - 2021) 43. Sonny Haynes (YTS) 45. Hallam Hope (AMRL/ST - 2021)
For once in our recent history we actually have a fair few contracted for next season, sods bloody law isn't it!

Be nice to see Grant, Yates and Doyle added to that list. Benda, too, but I'd be surprised.

a lot of clubs came out and said that they were furloughing the players, did I miss that we were one of them? I would be suprised if all league 2 clubs weren't using it tbh.

Wellens said tonight that contract offers will be in by Friday but the players will be told they can’t sign them yet as we can’t afford to pay them through the summer. He mentioned Grant, Doyle, Anderson and Fryers specifically. Other clubs will be in the same boat so no concerns about them being pinched.
He also said that of the 1500 players out of contract this summer he thinks half will fall out of the game!

I am willing to play for free if that assists the club in these difficult times. Maybe they should run some open trials like the Philadelphia Eagles in that film Invincible.
