The Exeter Express and Echo are now running with the story that Tisdale is favourite for the job.

Probably just based entirely upon the bookies odds but it appears their chief executive is a possibly expecting an approach from us for him.....

I would be happy if we appointed Tisdale.

He's turned down Southampton before and also turned down Swansea*, so they obviously saw something good in him.

Bit of a non-article really, but if we type it enough, it will happen - Tisdale...Tisdale...Tisdale...

Seriously though, he knows all about sustainable management and wouldn't cost a fortune in terms of compo I wouldn't have thought. And he has to be looking at moving on sooner rather than later.

I will probably get shouted down for this but if I was in Jedward's position I would have a chat with Macari and ask him if he fancied helping out until the end of the season. Not because he is a Swindon legend but because he has a wealth of experience as a manager, isn't managing at the moment and, I would imagine, not want to go back into management full time. But, because of his connections with Swindon, he may fancy helping out Millward at a pivotal point in the season.

In the mean time, we can open negotiations with Exeter about getting Tisdale in the summer which means they will be less pissed off about losing him than they would if he went now and perhaps we could negotiate a more favourable compensation package.

There you go Jed. You've seen what you must do....make it so.......

I really do have too much time on my hands Cool

Edit: He appears to have retired. Might be interested in a couple of months work though, may suit him down to the ground Hmmm

Wiki extract

Even more remarkable is the fact that on top of previous player sales, Tisdale also recouped notable sums by selling Dean Moxey to Derby County and Danny Seaborne to Southampton. He has paid a transfer fee for just one player, Troy Archibald-Henville, £50,000 from Tottenham Hotspur in 2010

If we have to cut our cloth one of the best tailored managers would indeed be Paul Tisdale

Wouldn't mind a caretaker such as Steve Coppell ... or even a riskier Lou Macari

Coppell's at Crawley isn't he? Some one in that mould though would be great I think.

Think you're right about Coppell being at Crawley.  Think he took over as a sort of interim measure and has stayed upstairs

I went to see him at the Wyvern. He was funnier than Lenny Henry.

Can Red Sheldon comment on whether his own fictional medium character was based on anyone that appears in this thread ?

I'm 40% through now if he reads this.

He was here before - as an advisor or something or other to Andy King for a few games. I think we lost every game.....
