I hadn't realised that JFH had allegedly contacted Jed and Co... so it could happen?!

Wally Downes anyone? He applied last time when Di Canio got it.

Dont know too much about him but is a respected defensive coach.

i hate Brown and Butcher is crap.

don't think this is the right time for an inexperienced ex-pro to cut his teeth in management.

Who would you like to see us go for? Don't seem to be bundles of quality options around. FWIW I'd take Brown or Butcher. Think Brown got a bit fucked by injuries at Preston but did a great job at Hull. Does come across as a bit of a pillock though.

honestly, i haven't got a clue. ideally i'd like to see us get someone in to do a job to the end of the season, a wise experienced manager with a good record who will be happy to give way to a younger, probably recently retired player, at the start of next season whilst remaining at the club in an "advisory" capacity.

someone like Sturrock to be honest.

Brown can fuck off.

Butcher can fuck right off.

I'm going to stick this one in out of the ether. Andy Morrell seems to be doing very well at Wrexham, Hockaday at Forest Green Rovers, or the chap currently in charge at Newport County (where ironically Paolo was originally going to manage). It takes serious credentials to lift a team to the lofty heights of that division. My tuppence would be on Andy Morrell. A likeable guy who bleeds sincerity and devotion- which rather begs the question, why would he jump ship then?

Think that's fair. Offer someone with experience a contract with promotion incentives and then reassess in the summer. As mentioned variously elsewhere we have a cracking record with recent ex pros, but don't think midseason is the time for it.

I'm happy the likes of Newell/Buckle seem to have gone away for now. Not sure if that's dangerous for the rumour mills though?  Hmmm

Phil Brown's record isn't that great.

I've found that the better candidates prefer to remain anonymous until later on in the process. The lesser candidates are usually more desperate for any job and happy to have their name thrown about.
