Seems as good a thread as any to post that if anyone's stuck in London and can't make the game, there are a few who cant make it going to the.

You dont have to have a hybrid accent or know the words to my old man to receive a welcome..

Those of us that are going from sunny London, the majority of us are gathering at the Snooty Fox outside 3 bridges station from around 4.30 onwards.  Wrap up warm ( or drink brandy chasers) as it's going to be a cold un.

How many miles is that from the ground Sutton? More than 1 and I'm making for the Half Moon.

The bus is #20, with the stop just along from the station past the taxi rank on station side of the road.  It'll cost £1.70, unless you've got a PLUSBUS, and takes you right to the stadium.  The buses don't offer return tickets so it'll singles both ways.  The bus runs about every 20 minutes and would take about 10 minutes to get to the ground.

I didn't go last night for the same reason Batch. It's those that are using a defeat as an excuse I'm having a pop at, not those that weren't going anyway.

Fair enough. Sorry.

Looking at the weather over the next few days.....do Crawley have under soil heating :) I think with it being a TV match that they'll bring in  pitch covers and that will probably work. But with -3 predicted Thursday night there has to be a small risk to the game...

Just been looking at weatheronline.co.uk ........

On Friday an area of sleet and snow showers pushes south through northern England, the Midlands, Wales and East Anglia in the morning. This area of snow develops significantly into the evening, and it may be that we find an area of significant snow across southeast and southern England by late afternoon and into the evening.

I reckon there is a good chance the game will be off.

If it snows friday it should be ok (unless it's a foot deep like earlier this year). If it's tomorrow as they are saying up here, coupled with large overnight below minus temepratures, then it probably will be off. Then again the weather forecasters  dont know their arse from their elobows 9 times out of 10, so I'll be getting my flip flops dusted down.

Football League fans in not giving a shit about going to a non league team, shocker.

I was going until they moved the game. Unfortunately Swindon to Crawley in 1 hour 30 minutes seems a bit ambitious.

Think you might find this game's a bit more of an exciting prospect for you lot than it for us. I know you may find this hard to believe, but many of us don't regard Crawley as the proverbial "mouthwatering fixture" (God, I hate that expression). Plus, as copious others have pointed out, for me personally and I suspect many others the umming and aaahing about whether or not to go was finally resolved by moving it to a Friday night so making it extremely difficult for me and impossible to take my kids.

Sorry. I'm sure if we draw you again in a few years, we'll all be in a proper frenzy about it. Assuming your convicted fraudster hasn't driven you bust by then of course

Don't be silly paul. Whilst it's nice to pretend that we are the big boys and don't really care, there are a lot of fans out there who will relish the chance to cross Crawley off their ground list before they get into the league.

The truth is that it's cold and it's friday. and we might lose.

I'm sure there are. They should get out more. There's also plenty who don't think like that but would turn out if (say) it was Wolves or even someone like Burnley. I'm probably one of them. That's not pretending we're big boys, just that I'd struggle to think of a less likable place or potential opponent than Crawley (well, apart from MK obviously)

Crawley on a Friday night = 1/2 day off work and a shit journey. Not going to enthuse too many when its on TV, even if it isn't the same.

Personally I like going to non-league grounds. The type where you can get a beer, stand next to the pitch and swap ends at half time. Looks like yours is a bit bigger than that though. But the Friday night killed any chance of going.

Lastly "project promotion", really, "project promotion". Is your 'marketing'  department a bit special, filled with the type of person who regularly is in casualty having crayons removed from their nose?

Good luck in the league, but obviously I hope you die on your asses tonight. Unfortunately I'm not confident of that.

Strangely most of us aren't very familiar with your history, recent or otherwise, because we don't know or care much about you. Not to mention the Red Arrow flypast, the mayor doing a naked jig in the centre circle and all Town fans given the right to drive their pigs through the town centre on market day. Should we have any.

If we are really lucky the Mayor might even call for a local public holiday to mark the occasion.
