Away teams would still get a share of the gate receipts up until the mid 80's didn't they?

Do thet still get a share in the FA CUP?

That's still my greatest era when we were a real force in the cup competitions against the big boys and the County ground was packed

Before he graduated to the big league, Power had previous in running off with clubs' programme money. Looks like he started out playing a similar scam here.

It amazes me how small-time crooks think they can get away with it forever. Looks like the circle's closing in round him now. Good.

It depends. Obviously squirrelling away income and not declaring it is an offence that would interest HMRC. Pocketing transfer fees or any other income which shows in the accounts is just being a grasping cunt.

Makes you wonder how Standing got money into the club and, conversely, got money out again as his share of the dodgy deal with Power. What would it be shown as in the accounts? Again, a possible avenue for HMRC.

You have to question how much the efl look into club funding. When Power assumed control there can't have been much digging into where his funding was coming from given they were able to allegedly hide the 800k that initially came into the club from Standing or Barry and the £4.5m that Standing has allegedly put in since. On the face of it the answer is that they don't dig too deep sadly. Yet time and time again this is allowed to happen at efl clubs.  The points deductions etc all follow and supporters get punished when the root cause is that there aren't stringent enough checks in the fit and proper tests when clubs get taken over.

Any new owner should deposit a bond of, say, 6 months wages with the EFL to show intent.

These part time wannabe crooks that can rock up for next to nothing with funds from God knows where need eliminating from the game.

Power is a grade A cunt for sure, but I bet he ain’t the only one fleecing their pockets at a club’s expense.

I had it on very good authority there were 3 crowds over 20,000 that season including this one.

While ignorance is no defence against the law and whataboutery is no longer a defence against anything, we were not the only club doing this were we?

There's also this letter from Murral accusing Power of asking Mark Cooper to throw a game back in 2013
