Best XI from all the players I've seen....an almost impossible task. Best XI which I've actually seen and which has actually played together is easy though...
1. Digby 2. Kerslake 3. Bodin 4. McLoughlin 5. Calderwood 6. Gittens 7. Jones 8. Shearer 9. White 10. McLaren 11. Foley
Swindon Town 1 Sunderland 0 Wembley 28/5/90

I loved that song, perhaps because of how genuinely ill-suited Anthony McNamee would be to this theoretical game of 11-clone football. A small, weak winger with a habit of drifting in and out of games and dubious end product. He'd be absolutely useless in every position apart from on the wings and maybe a second striker. Would get smashed by a team of David Dukes.

The original "we all dream of a team of Gary Breens" was far more apt as he played in almost every position for Coventry including stand in goalkeeper back in the late 90s. I can't begin to imagine Macnamee even standing in a goal without looking like an u13 leagues goalkeeper.

From the late 90s on, trying to include a mix of eras.
1. Wes Foderingham 2. Paul Caddis 3. Paul Bodin 4. Kevin Horlock 5. Shaun Taylor 6. Gordon Greer 7. Matt Ritchie 8. Massimo Luongo 9. Charlie Austin 10. Simon Cox 11. George Ndah
I have what I suspected is a very rose-tinted eight year old's view of George Ndah being absolutely dynamite when he was fit.

Ironic/Factually Incorrect chants are the best chants. A team of Michael Pooks could probably beat a team of McNamees.
