Why does it bother you so much Spencer ?

Spence as hit a nail on the head.  I was in the Town End in the 70s.  We used to suck the ball into the net.  As supporters we were up for it well before the kick off.
I'm sat in the DRS now and nobody will sing around me.  Atmos is what it's all about. Our support is anally retentive

Thats because 1970's football fans were savage and barbaric.

I remember the Town End in the 80s - proper quality that was.

Hillsborough and a knee jerk reaction to that ruined it all!! Doh

Which bit of the 80's ?  I remember being in the TE with enough room to swing a giraffe let alone a cat, apart from the very odd game....by the late 80's the action was on the south side.

I don't agree with Spencer's Malpas argument ...he wasn't with us for that long, but it is a concern how our fans have become very passive and small in number.  Would we take more than 20K to Wembley this time if we make it?

Forgot to say the Wycombe matchday announcer was shameful and should be sacked. Firstly he wished us luck and said he hoped to see us in playing in the Championship next year. Secondly he tried to get our fans singing before the game.

When I go to away games I expected to be treated like dirt by the opposition club/supporters. This chap was just too nice.

Hard one to call. I've been disappointed with the gates this year, but a first trip to the new Wembley would probably see so called 'old fans' go and those who live in Swindon but don't give a shit about the club. Could it be our fans are turning increasingly plastic? as evident with 6k at Fulham.

A good gauge will be how many we get at the home leg of the semis of any potential numbers.

All of my sunday football team, of which 2 of us are regulars, have said they'd go to Wembley if we got there and I've heard a hell of a lot of others promising to come out of the woodwork should we make it. I don't think we'd fill our end but we'd take over 20K.

If we could get 30,000 at Wembley that might be the spark we need to get the juices going again.

But we'll have to wait an entire summer to find out what effect its had. It might be another Fulham, where people come as a one off, and then return to not being interested.

Myself I think we can sell 20,000. Not sure about 30,000 not anymore. The prices are pretty steep as well.

We have always sold our tickets...for every Town fan that regularly goes 2,3 or 4 of the family who dont usually bother goes too...though alot will depend on who we get in the final...a Leeds final will have a much bigger appeal than say Charlton.
