Not a topic about cooking utensils but with this looking like being a great season its going to be bloody hard to choose a Player of the season. Lucas has been almost perfect, Cuthbert looks brilliant, Douglas and JPM are running the show in Midfield and of course up front Ben Hutchinson has been superb. Of course I jest about Hutchinson, Austin and Paynter are lethal up front.

Going to be some top 3 at this rate.

Douglas for me.

After that you could pick any from Cuthbert, JPM, Lucas, Ferry, Paynter and Manky. If Austin keeps going like he is he will be in the mix as well.

Its quite funny, after the Brighton game on the way out I was speaking to an old fella about our players and I mentioned how good Douglas is in the middle of the park. He looked at me and said 'our lads don't like him'. Guess this is the moany group in the DRS. I switched off after that as he clearly didn't have a clue what he was on about.

For me at present Cuthbert. He just does his 'job', no nonsense, excellent defender, and signing of the season. Close behind would be douglas. We definately missed him when banned.

Douglas
Cuthbert
Paynter

with JPM and Lucas not far behind. Douglas is the midfielder we've been missing for the best part of 15 years. Cuthbert is pure quality and is getting better - another Fridge. Wilson is accumulating a fine squad and more importantly I think it is a lot easier for Town to attract new players now - we're a much better proposition.
Then again if Austin carries on as he is then he'd get POY.

If Austin carries on as he is he'll win it. Industry doesn't seem to win awards, when another player is smashing goals in.

It's still very hard to pick at the moment though. I'd have to say JP, but then JP wouldn't be quite the player he is without players like Douglas behind him, who is also one of the many. Then Cuthbert has been quality, along with Paynter and Ferry.

I was hoping this was gonna be a discussion about some fine snooker shots.

As it is, it's one of the more pointless hypotheticals to be pondered for some time.
