probably the best cricketer who became a footballer since phil neville

I really miss the old school cricketing footballers...probably not been a proper one since Phil Neale...Worcestershire often seemed to have one...Jim Standen, Ted Hemsley , Jim Cumbes spring to mind.

Chris Balderstone was good enough to play top flight football for Carlisle, then got capped by England at cricket in 76, when he'd retired from football and was concentrating on cricket aged 36.

I thought Hollands was only suing the club. I saw an interview suggesting he was staying there despite the legal stuff.

He can leave on a free if not paid within 14 days.  If someone makes him an offer , including paying him on time, he would be crazy to say no.

I'm almost certain he's taken up the option of the 14 day rule, which means he's free to walk from his contract on the 12th of June, could be wrong though.

Of course if they get a new buyer in, all notices will be void, but Paul Baker who now runs the club, is apparently reluctant to sell for whatever reason, despite the club losing around 700k after the takeover.

Cleveland Taylor hands in a transfer request at Carlisle which has been accepted.

Taylor on one wing and Macca on the other would frighten defences, hopefully get HRK in as well with a bit of luck and we've got 3 very good wingers at this level.

I'm allowed to be optimistic!

Yeah meant on loan, don't think that's beyond possibility at all.

I read a piece in the Times today essentially saying that Paul Scholes and Gary Neville need to wind down their careers away from the spotlight.  Player-coaching roles I reckon.

If we're looking to strengthen in the wing department, which I expect we are, Max Gradel from Leicester would be a good shout. Remember him running the show when we played Bournemouth a couple of seasons ago.
