It's allowed if you crop them (rule of thirds) and make them black & white... Then you can call it art instead of stalking ;)

Heres a couple of pics I took with my Bridge Fuji HS10.

This was the first time I ever used it so wasn't expecting fantastic results but they came out OK.

The pic of the golden man was at full 30x zoom while the pic before it is at wide angle to show the difference in the shots from 1 extreme to the other.

Agree that it's mostly all about composition, but better quality cameras/lenses do help! Here's some I've taken on my phone & compact. I like to think I have an eye for a photo, hence me wanting a DSLR.

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/sam_stfc/P1020065.jpg

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/sam_stfc/P1020060.jpg

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/sam_stfc/camera012.jpg

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/sam_stfc/IMG_0008.jpg

And I know cropping's cheating, but I like this one.

(Guessing) Don't you set the camera on 25-40+ fps and then just pick out the frame that's got the best capture? Or maybe he's got really good reactions?

Get the camera over a sink on a tripod - have the tap dripping very slowly - then try to press the shutter at the right time !!

Takes a fair bit of messing around but I was quite pleased with how they turned out....

Tried on a lot of different settings - the "tall" one was with a Nikon D300 - Exposure 1/200, ISO 200, F/16 (if that helps :) )

I'd like a better camera and an idea of what I was doing when I see nice things. These were taken on a crappy phone cam. Top and bottom ones could have been especially decent if an actual photographer had taken the shots, rather than an uneducated gimp

If Win 7 Microsoft Picture Manager is actually OK for basic cropping, resizing etc....

If I need more sophisticated I use Photoshop - I also understand the lower cost version photoshop elements is pretty ok too

The GIMP (honestly, that's what it's called) is a pretty good free alternative to Photoshop if you want to keep the power but don't want to shell out and don't mind a bit of complexity

Otherwise, is Paint Shop Pro still going?

Can't be doing with linking individual photos, but some shots from my holiday are on my Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/28832708@N04/) for anyone who cares.

As you'll see from some of the zoomed shots, it appears I have dirt in my lens. Seeing as my camera is out of warranty anyway, that DSLR might be purchased sooner rather than later.

I use Adobe Lightroom which helps you to manage your complete photo collection, edit photo's, print, and create slideshows.  Takes a little bit of learning but once you are there its very good.  I also have Photoshop CS5 which you can link to from Lightroom but to be honest 90% of the time Lightroom is enough.

That's Harry, we have another one somewhere in the garden called Spike.

That's his feeding station, he doesn't normally sleep in there, but has done a couple of times recently. He normally sleeps in the pampas grass.
It gives my missus a bit of a fright when she opens the lid and he's in there during the day. :)

He's left a nice, big turd in there also. Lovely stuff.

Good luck with that, really good pic.
Took a few today, first one is Bliss Mill in Chipping Norton, amazing Victorian mill with landscaped gardens and now home to flats...it must have been an impresive building to the folk who worked there...stunning building and the best mill in Britain at the time....William Bliss looked after his workers(in relative terms) and people walked from miles around to work here,it stopped producing in 1980.

http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad185/swindon123/mill006.jpg

Next one below is a typical little house in Burford and the one with the traffic light on red which allowed me to take the pic is the old mill house by the little bridge and river in Burford.

http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad185/swindon123/mill004.jpg

http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad185/swindon123/mill003.jpg

One below is the weird site of ripe blackberries in July!

http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad185/swindon123/mill010.jpg

And a picture familiar to many Swindonians...the Thames at Lechlade in the very early morning sun.

That mill was an even more imposing site before it was converted to residential which hit the town quite badly at the time, I in fact had quite a few relatives working there. When it closed the chimney was reduced in height by 50 or 60 feet for safety reasons.

We used to draw smily faces and stick hair on the dildos before they got sent off to customers.

Haha, I never took any interest in baseball, then went to a Padres game back in 2008 and decided to learn all about it, a lot of it is based around statistics, but I found this time knowing most of the rules made it a really entertaining game. Oddly enough it seems if Swindon have a good season so do the Padres and if we're crap they're crap!

Really don't like the HDR function on the iPhone, I can't see the point of it - it just makes things look overexposed. Looks good after a bit of shopping though.

The HDR function is really designed to level out the exposure and provide detail to under exposed areas as a result it appears over exposed but is actually more like how our eyes see things...

We were on the boat there for 5 days, snorkeled on 4 of them. I don't know if scuba would have added much more, we saw amazing stuff as it was, and I'm not certified to scuba (not actually sure if you need to be?).

We swam right next to a variety of crazy looking fish, giant sea turtles, rays, sea lions, and sharks. It was the highlight of my whole time away and if you ever get the chance to visit the Galapagos you must take it.

Jealous! It's meant to be one of the best places in the world to dive or snorkel. You could've done a 'try dive' without being certified but it does sound like you saw plenty of things anyway  :)

Sounds fantastic If you managed to see that lot whilst snorkelling. I can't say if you would have seen more with scuba but it seems you ticked lots of boxes.
One day I will go, definitely. I've heard it's crazily expensive to do a liveaboard cruise and there is also a waiting list.

It's all a dream at the moment though
