but when we defend we did defend really narrow. Its now Brows fault if thats how he is told how to play.
Shakes does exactly the same on the right wing.
However there were times when CCP had the ball at left back and Brown didnt do enough to get back out to the wing quick enough....
...but I dont think you can blame him for defending narrow because thats what we appear to do.
Yep, it's quite noticeable and I've said before I reckon it's something Wise took from his Wimbledon days. They used to press the pitch on the side the ball was. The thinking is it places the team in possession under pressure and cuts down the space, if the ball is spread to the other wing there is normally time to just shuffle over and cover before they can create anything dangerous.
Seems to work a treat against less skilled teams, like the ones in this league.
