Title: Laptop Advice Post by: joteddyred on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, 16:13:13 So, our Dell desktop is around 9 years old and has had it's memory increased on quite a few occasions. It's become pretty painful to do anything on it lately as highlighted by the length of time it just took me to place an online grocery order and I think it's time to say goodbye to it.
I'm thinking that instead of another PC, I'd rather get a laptop to replace it, but know bugger all about what's decent and how much I need to spend? We mainly use it for the internet and some downloading. Any help or advice on what to get or avoid would be gratefully received. I know you said surfing and dnloading now, but is that definitely all you want to do in the future? Do you need a bluray drive, etc, etc. I think an adequate laptop for light-medium will be in the price bracket £280-£350 if you wait for a good offer. But this will not be a games machine! For obvious reasons laptops command a premium over their desktop performance equivalents. |
