Couldn't have him on loan as we've already got 5 players on the books.
5 ? 4 - Toffolo, Stephens, Thompson & Turnbull - Toffolo is on a youth loan I beleive so not sure if that makes any difference to the aount of loans in a team |

We are also only allowed to sign 8 loanees per season, with Bell and Smith returned that leaves room for just one more.

Oh we did indeed I forgot about him. I think youth loans don't count against the overall number of loanees over the season but do on the amount of players in the squad (5 max). Lelan and Bell were youth loans. Trying to read the league rules and on one of them it says a maximum of 12 loans but I am sure the league put the number down to 8 after Watford played with virtually a whole team of loanees a couple of years back. http://www.football-league.co.uk/global/section6.aspx |

It's such a grey area, I'm sure the rule was that under the age of 21 could be classed as Youth Loans, looking at the names/DOB's - aren't they all under 21?
For a youth loan I think it says you have to be a scholar or a 1st year pro. Scholars in their second or third (if that option is exercised) year of their Scholarship agreement, or
• Contract Players aged 20 or under on 1 July immediately preceding the Playing Season in question. |

An additional Youth Loan Player may be added to this figure.
