British "sex tourists" who abuse children abroad could face prosecution in the UK even if their actions were legal in the country they visited. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7500927.stmFucking good shout. What gets me is that on a local Bangkok forum the PC brigade have come out objecting to this: "It might pass to other things such as smoking dope in Amsterdam" Are there ANY grounds to object to this law?

There's a PC Brigade in Bangkok?
But on topic, I agree.

It's hard to argue against, but it's a dangerous precedent to start. I don't think there's many other 'legal' crimes that a case could be made for.

Well Bangkok ive thaught for ages that the authorities in Thailand should be doing more, and if they dont then the western world should start cracking the whip and impose some sanctions, then maybe they would start to take some steps to protect there children...its disgusting that they just allow this to happen so they can line there own pockets with the foreign money, while theres an open market for child porn these lowlife will use places like Thailand.

What countries is it legal in anyway and how does that work with countries like Denmark, France and Poland where the age of consent is 15?
I think you would have to be pretty fucked up to touch anything that age (except when you are 15/16 or under that is) but how the hell would you police that?

Leefer.
You are spot on mate, unfortunately countries like Thailand are Soooo corrupt that one could literally get away with murder. And I mean literally.
There are many evil people in this world but thankfully some governments restrict their activities to the point that they will be knicked and locked up, unfortunately countries like Thailand are the kind of place where a defendant (Pedo) would be aquitted do to lack of evidence (Thanks to a large bribe).
Laws like the one that I posted could stop this shite from happening.

Fair question Dazza. But it is directed towards Pedo's, not people who have sex under-age. There is a MAHOOSIVE difference. And by people I mean kids of the same age group.

Is thailand still bad for Paedos then Bangkok?
I honestly thought it had cleaned that all up years ago. I always knew about the police back handers and such but I had no idea it was still rife.

Bangkok,
It's not before time that comes in to effect. As someone who's lived and worked in Thailand
and Asia,i have to say that i'm unconvinced that the thais will take it too seriously. The chances
are that it'll be used as a shake down for money, with the odd exception of a few public arrests
to make Thailand look good.

dangerous road to travel down. once they start doing it for one crime then they will do it for all so as already suggested smoking dope in the dam.
best way to sort these cunts out is to simply tell people who they are soon enough they will get murder, house burn't down whatever and done problem solved and one less twat to worry about!
