Good appointment for me... solid coaching experience, worked with top level players for years so should bring a nice professional approach with him.

Relatively happy with that. Seems well regarded in the game and has plenty of experience at a high level. Should also have a few decent contacts and most importantly, he should be itching for the chance of being the main man at a club and has plenty to prove.

Welcome KMac.

I think a board many of us have given a pretty hard time so far will rise somewhat tonight in a lot of peoples estimation, at least on the basis of their footballing knowledge, for making what (on paper) seems a promising and sensible appointment in their first major act as owners.

Let's face it, it was not a name anyone was really touting before it appeared out of the blue on the bookies short-list, but now some of us have done a bit of digging it seems they've pulled out from behind a rather unpromising list of potential candidates a man who ticks a lot of the boxes most of us are looking for: experienced, but also hungry, popular with players, good history with bringing through youth, decent connections, worked at a top level. Should bring a stable future to the club.

Well done Jed and co.

Absolutely spot on. A sensible rather than knee jerk appointment of a man with actual credentials rather than just a big name/ego for the sake of it. Impressed.

EDIT: Of course, I reserve the right to call them a bunch of clueless fuckwits who should have gone for (insert name of whoever turns out to look like a better choice at the time) if he doesn't work out Smiley

Kev MacDonald had a club, EE-I-EE-I-O,
And at that club he had a Ferry, EE-I-EE-I-O,
With a Ferry here and a Ferry there
Here, there, everywhere a Ferry
Kev MacDonald had a club, EE-I-EE-I-O.

And at that club he had a Thompson, EE-I-EE-I-O

(etc. etc. Archibald-Henville could cause a few problems)
