From my Hibs supporting friend

John Hughes (Yogi) is definitely a character, he would maybe be a good choice. Good record in Scotland (he was always ahead of Owen Coyle until his move to Burnley) however things turned sour towards his time at us. None of you lot would be able to understand him either!!

Gus Mac was average in SPL, he kept St Mirren in the SPL but never much else, not the most inspirational

He also says this: - You could do one better and take CC off us, the players he wants to sign are horrendous!!

I worry about you Tans.

1) Why are you watching This Morning ?

2) Why have you paused it to take a picture of a fat bird ?

Once the policy is not to head hunt someone, but to get applications in, then you're stuck with those that apply.

Burley is the stand out candidate, but his career has gone nowhere in recent years and ending up at STFC might just confirm that. Therefore I'd steer clear.

Of the rest Trollope would be the best bet.

He had a wonderful spell at Hearts taking them top of the league before Romanov lost the plot and fired him.

I wouldn't be averse to him being manager.

we've been to Aberdeen, we hate the Hibs, they make us spew up, so make some noise,
the gorgie boys, for Hearts in Europe.

I'm still holding out for a surprise because there's a few on the 'list' that are a bit meh.

How long ago now?

Giving Burley a wide berth is a gut feeling...if he ended up as boss, I'd give him 5 games before calling for his head.

I seem to remember Craig Burley saying that the reason George didn't do well with Scotland was that the players were "too thick to understand what he was asking them to do"

Would be interesting to see what he'd make of our lot...

I've just checked Burley's stats as a manager. I'm actually a lot more impressed that I thought I would be. He did an amazing job at Ipswich, did well at both Saints and Derby taking them to the play-offs in The Championship and totally transformed Hearts in the short time he was there. He did fail at Scotland and Palace though which were his last 2 jobs. In fairness international management is a different kettle of fish and Palace were really financially strained in his time there. I think given his record and experience he'd be a good choice. Shame he's another Jock but you can't have everything.
