Watched remake of Nightmare on Elm Street tonight.  Story is pretty much as original except that it goes more into Freddy Kreuger life before he's burnt and what his link is with the kids when they were at Pre-School.

Downers: Although the new Freddy is more sinister the face of Freddy isn't anywhere as good as the original. Jackie Earle Haley does a good job playing Krueger though.

I would give it 6.5 out of 10.  Good effort with the extras about Freddys past but unfortunately rest of film is pretty much same as original.

Didn't now that was out already. Not sure about an Elm Street without Englund.

I thought that too but Jackie Earle Haley does a good job just the mask that lets it down really.

The best thing about the original Elm Street films was the Robert Englund (Krueger) chessey one liners.  This Kreuger is a bit more sinister

If you want to watch a really good German film, watch Dresden.
