I used to take a close interest in governance and off the field matters.  Sad thing is, I now just switch off to news like this.  Seen it too many times before.  Until we manage to put together a body of relatively wealthy fans, like Swansea did, to orchestrate a takeover in the interest of the fans - this kind of thing will keep on happening.

I literally can't think of anything worse than being run by Swindon fans.

So, Jed tried to appoint 3 new directors, Power tried to get a temporary injunction against that on Wed, but failed and in the interim the High Court allowed the 3 directors to be appointed, but with no power to pass resolutions (but with "observer" status, presumably meaning they can demand to look at books etc). And the whole mess isn't going to be sorted out properly or even looked at again until the end of the month at the earliest. Sounds like Jed and Co at least have a case, or the High Court would have told them to take a running jump, not allowed the 3 in for a look around?

Oh Jed will you kindly fuck off now please I am getting bored of this. In the world of double glazing/stealing shit off the back of vans to sell at market/whatever the fuck it is you do this may well be acceptable but constantly trying to fuck around with our football club, just when we've started to build a period of sustainability is not.

This makes me wonder if it was Jed's chums who put around the 'Lee Power is a shady person' rumour when he first took over. But then that would mean he had mastered the concept of 'the future' and I don't think he's capable of doing that.

Didn't Jed retain some of the shareholding? It may be that he's built a case that his minority interest isn't being looked after.

To be honest I'm not sure what the best resolution is  long term. Only that short term its damaging.

Power seems to offer a more professional approach to things, seems to have a plan of sustainability and a different way of making us competitive through loans. On the downside the last bit worked fantastically well this year, but that may not be the case if some of our high earners are jettisoned. I'm not sure why but I still don't fully trust Power - even though he's not done much to earn that.

Jed comes across as a Del Boy, lost of bluster, talks the talk (mostly crap), but didn't have the clout financially to back it up. Yet he did a few good things, mainly on the ticketing side, oh and being the only one willing to take a flier when Black quit. But I think he wanted to do the right thing by the club, not sure why I think that either.

If Jeds lot get back in then so be it. I just hope they have a proper plan in place for the good of the cub, and that this isn't just a personal grudge.

All we fans can do is roll our eyes and wait and see.

If that's a piss take of my earlier fan ownership comment, it's badly timed.  What we're witnessing at the moment is a power struggle between a group of individuals who have no connection to our club other than they want to make a fast ££ from it.  Swansea, and others, have shown that good stewardship can come when those holding the controls have an emotional attachment to the club concerned, and have more of an interest than simply making a financial gain.  That's all I'm saying.

I'm not suggesting for one second that control should be given to people not qualified to have it, whether they are Swindon people or not.  We need stability - and the succession of chancers, with no previous connection to or interest in our club, who continue to line up at at its door are not going to deliver this.

I was enjoying this wind down to the end of the season....no relegation battle or PO shit, some decent looking young lads, looking like next season could be interesting, and a fairly positive mood around the place.

FWIW....Power as the football man, with Jed as a sort of cheer leader, is not a bad combination, but it appears that's impossible.  So I'm in the Power camp....

For me it's about making the right decisions....Town fan or not.

I believe it has, but there were strict stipulations about what it could be spent on (permanent betterment of the club as opposed to intangible short-term improvement or somethign along those lines). Perhaps its still sat in the bank as nothing that meets the stipulations has come up yet.

Being a Swindon fan, and hoping to taste a measure of stability, is like being this cat, trying to reach a stream of tantalising water.

We are as much soap opera as football club these days. I count myself amongst the number almost numb to worrying about it now. If I look back on the last couple of years of off-field farce and melodrama, better to just enjoy the twist and turns of the story, than worry too much about its direction.

Hopefully one of the three will have the pot that Jed didn't ;)

Not just us though - football as a whole is terrible. Balance sheets, merchandise, entertainment value and Television are king.

I said the exact same thing this morning. Power and Jed are as bad as eachother for fucksake.

People clambering over Power are only doing so because they think he is the lesser of two evils,let's see the accounts next time around and see just how much money he has put into the club.

I'm still pretty sceptical about Power (although the antics of JedCo are doing a lot to make him look solid, professional and upright by comparison) but you don't judge someone's stewardship of a club by how much money they've put in. It's about how well they've run the club as a whole - I'd rather have an owner who's not put any money in, but who's run the club so well that it's generated it's own operating costs through revenue than some bumbling but wealthy idiot who's wasted millions patching up his own incompetence.

Really? Maybe you're right, but people I've spoken to are more judging Jed on the basis of being a shifty chancer (and what they think he's taken out) and Power on the basis of not being Jed.

Nearly everyone i spoke to say the same about Jed,he is a chancer. In my opinion Power is also a chancer who doesnt chat as much shit and has apparantly put alot of money in

RS saying earlier on that Power has possession of an e-mail that seems to indicate that if these three herberts get directorships the first decision would be to suspend the two existing directors, Power and Sangita, and then re-appoint Jed.  A recipe for disaster, especially as one of them is the wife of a Luton director or ex-director.  What contacts will they have, at least Power has something about him football wise.

Power obviously needs to check the receipt to see what he actually got for his £300,000.

Reading the statements again a couple of things caught my eye...

The club state 'Following a series of legal actions against the former Chairman, Mr McCrory has attempted to appoint directors to the Club' - this would suggest the club have been trying to take action against Jed recently any idea what?

Secondly it also suggests that the club instigated the court action this week and sought an injunction - again interesting the it was that way and not Seebeck trying to gain control via the court.

I am not reading too much into the fact that the court adjourned to look into it in more detail in he future as business cases are complex...

That's about the only thing the two versions agree on - JedCo tried to appoint directors, the club sought an injunction to prevent them from doing so. And failed to get it.
