you are both right.
what kind of cunt wants to spend his time playing at being a dash cam policeman.
but if you don't explain the crime, you deserve the criticism.

We are all travelling at the same speed as the Earth spins. Lift away from the Earth and you maintain that speed, so we just carry on spinning along and will continue to do so until a force is applied that stops it. (Newton's first law). The wind sometimes does that, and the pilot compensates.
It's all relative. It may appear to be stationary, but it's all really travelling very, very quickly. Together.
The Earth rotates at around 900mph, if the atmosphere did not follow the same rules then if we jumped up in the air for one second we would land 1320 feet away. I could hop to work

The sad bastard who dobbed me in for a minor traffic offence after he filmed me on his dash-cam. Yes I was guilty but caused no inconvenience or danger to any motorist or pedestrian. This sad bastard (whom on the footage sounded as if he was creaming his jeans) then took the time out to inform the police, fill out a 4 page statement and provide video evidence. Thanks mate. I bet he is also the type of person who would look the other way if somebody really needed help. Thanks again mate. Merry Christmas. Perhaps we will meet again some day.........
What was the offence?

Exactly, I love the bants on here but if you were to report every driving offence you would be constantly at the police station. They also require the footage on CD and the whole of your journey. Many PC's don't have CD drives anymore so it's not do-able. Some counties you can upload via their website though which is good. But remember, if you do send in a clip you must be prepared to go to court. As for the red light saga. Was it on Thamesdown Drive? They really are cracking down on there with red light 'jumpers'.

I was a regular jumper of Thamesdown drive lights. I’ve only stopped through dashcam fears - unless I’m alone.
In my opinion the problem is as bad as we know it is, because the council misuse the lights and we know that most the the time the lights are needlessly and infuriatingly cycling through. Lights are not for traffic calming.

That road is extremely dangerous and people do speed down it. Imagine if they changed the lights during the night. It would become a race track.

It already is (apparently). Although I drive it in both directions at least twice a day and rarely witness dangerous speeds.
And they’re not paying attention to them anyway. So what happens is, someone pulls from a side street on green and the person jumping the lights from another direction, having seen the lights crywolf countless times, this time meets a car.
Sure, slow the road down, but misusing the lights has caused the problem in my opinion. And also everyone now knows that there’s ages between one direction going red and another going green, which also doesn’t help.

Bit of an old codgers question here but why do people feel the need to jump red lights? The reason there is a delay between lights turning green / red was to stop amber gamblers. If you had 2 of them at the same time, it would be a problem.

I stopped driving so much when I started working from home 3 years back, going from c.35k miles a year to now about 3k, however when I do drive now the standard of driving on the roads has gone to absolute shit in the last couple of years, no one on motorways seems to have any anticipation or spatial awareness and there seems to be little realisation that if we all work together we will get where we are going quicker and safer!
Then again as people seem to have fuck all courtesy or spatial awareness even on foot these days its hardly surprising!
