Some twitter rumouraccount reckons we have had a bid of 350k accepted for Yates
If that is indeed true, I may soil my trousers in sheer delight.

If what we're hearing is true, can't fault the thinking of the club at all.

GP was immense last year, but in terms of priority, was behind Yates, DJ and Grant by the sounds of things. Which is all very sensible - not something we're used to.

The fact that we seem to have £350k to spend on a player in the present economic climate is possibly reason for spoilage in its own right.

Agree totally. Some other account also said we were front runners for Jayesimi, ipswich and gillingham also interested.

Be interesting to see whether this comes off or it some kid trying to rip tansmedia off Cheesy

That Alan Nixon journo (who normally seems to get things right) seems to think we're attempting to pay for Yates in quite a unique way. Any ideas?

As for Eoin Doyle - Echoing many comments above. Disappointed but don't blame him at all, a decent last pay day with a good length contract at a big club. The style of football will suit him I think and I'm sure he'll bang them in. I think if it was purely down to football he would've stayed here... I don't think I've ever seen a loanee have so much passion for the club and be so desperate to come back. Loved watching him celebrate his team mates goals, and hearing his interviews too. A true gent on and off the pitch.

No guarantee though that he would've been just as effective in league one (although I still think he would have got near 20 at least). It's nice to see a lot of fans responding with faith in Wellens, but 25 goal strikers aren't easy to replace.

I would imagine so to a degree, although with the apparent wider interest in Yates Rotherham could be choosy and I imagine we must be putting a fair wedge up front.
