The wife being a complete flid and dropping her two month old phone in the bath.
Umm try the rice method. I know someone who tried it with their iPhone and it recovered it almost fully apart from one of the speakers being broken.
Though I think the success rate is very small.
I dropped my BB torch down the bog/shitter/crapper (so as to not annoy Tans!) and then put it in a bag of rice for 2 days. It worked again pretty much as normal for 6 months but then began to die - think bits got corroded inside!

The rice bag trick worked for my iPhone. Submerge phone in rice. Do not even attempt to turn it on for 3 days - tempting as it is.

It's in rice. Screen was flickering when I yanked the battery out so I reckon it's going to be dead. If by some miracle it switches on I don't expect it to last long due to corrosion.

You should have tried to get most of the water out quickly by using a hairdryer or something, then putting it in rice.

There wasn't actually that much water visible. I wiped off what I could.
The water indicator on the battery has only partially triggered, the indicator actually on the phone in the battery tray is still white so I'm hopeful all is not lost. Time will tell. I'm going to leave it as long as possible before I switch it on again.

Did you bin the rice or put it back in the cupboard?

For six months!! Brown rice? It probably resembles mushroom rice now.
