Title: Swindon Town vs MK Dongs Matchday Thread
Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, April 15, 2011, 23:04:35
On the grounds that I currently have a 100% win ratio in matchday threads heres a hiding to nothing.

And also I predicted a narrow 1-0 defeat so I will do the same again.

Fingers crossed!

No idea what the result is going to be, but I really hate the fucking plastic cunts.

They are probably even worse than the yellow scum from up the road, they don't have a choice because they are inbred wankers, whereas the plastic scum chose to steal someone else's team.

The Scum are hated because of who they are, the Franchise wankstains are hated because of what they are. There's room in my heart to hate both with a bit left over for the Slave Traders and the Shirt Batterers.

That's going to be tough for those who were watching Town at Brentford.

Whether or not we can actually stay up, we have to win this just because of what we're playing. A fucking abomination on the face of football. Come on lads, put the worries behind you and go out play with some pride - play for everything that history, tradition and community means in football and spank their plastic club-stealing arses all the way back to their plastic fucking town

I was in a pub in North Yorkshire with the family - only got back yesterday. Sorry, can't oblige but i will go to the game and abuse the club stealing platic wankstains if that would help. It will certainly help me.

You know this is almost a relief. Since last week a sliver of doubt has crept in about whether there really was no hope of surviving. The sooner that's taken away from me and I can't feel any more disappointment the better.

And I really don't want Hart in charge next season

We are absolutely dire, dongs have controlled the match, we have fuck all up front and don't even look like scoring. If that cunt Hart doesn't bring somebody on up front second half he needs shooting!

The negative twat shouldn't be allowed within 100yards of a football club!

Going down with no pride, no passion, no decent players and certainly no clue at management level!

Hope all the players fuck off at the end of the season and never disgrace the red shirt again.

Paul Hart can fuck off now, he has added nothing and we may as well run down the season managerless as much good he does. The donkey in the orange boots looked about as good as Pericard on a bad day. Just back, still seething - at least that shows I am still committed.  Hart must never be allowed to manage STFC again, what a crap formation for a game we simply had to win.  Frampton can fuck off back to Millwall immediately - what a cunt to give away a foul in there half when he had already been booked.  Dons deserved to win, better organised and more committed, but no way do they look  play-off side - last year's team would have eaten them by half time.  One attempt on target for both teams just about sums it up.  Now's the time to grasp the mettle Mr Fitton, appoint next year's manager now, let him see the shite he will inherit.  Make the right choice Mr. F., your choiuces so far have not been good, I doubt at the moment you could make the right choice to fart!!!  The only thing worse than us today was the ref - he was a joke but he didn't cost us the game.  We simply are crap!

As a season ticket holder for one more season, I hope A F gets rid of the first team squad except Benyon and Ritchie. If he doesn't break up this team we will shoot straight through div 4.

Initially it was just Caddis who came over and applauded the crowd. I and others round me applauded him back, partly for the gesture, but mainly because he was one of 3 players who actually looked like he gave a shit today. What a gutless performance. The team were just playing the season out. There was no passion, no desire, no commitment - in fact nothing. They played like they were a mid table side at an end of season game. It really was a game of who was the worst of a bad bunch. I think Frampton sealed it with a complete nob end of a sending off. JPM was fucking awful as was N'Diaye. Caddis tried but he had a bad game today. Ritchie probably was MOM but how easy is it to knock him off the ball. In fact, how easy is it to knock any of our players off the ball.
Hopefully, next week we'll pitch the youngsters in and give them a run. Our so called senior players can fuck right off.
Absolute, absolute shite today. The plastic wankstains were pretty crap and their goal was yet again due to rank shit defending.
I think i should also congratulate the ref. Althuogh he didn't cost us the game ( we did that ourselves, again ) he did provide some great entertainment and sending off Frampton should make our defence tighter for the next couple of weeks.
Why can't this season end tomorrow?

Prutton's shoulder barge of the 'keeper into the back of the goal was one of the most entertaining things on the pitch all game.

It was his only contribution admittedly.

Not surprising that the views of the game are fairly unanimous that this was a totally dire performance and that Hart is totally barking as thinks otherwise.  I thought I was fairly laid back about how our season has been going and most weeks have simply accepted that we're crap but life goes on. This week I've come home feeling really pissed off as that was one of the most clueless performances I've ever seen, and hearing Hart bemoaning our luck just topped it off.
I don't fully agree with many who say that the team showed no desire today.  I think plenty of them were; Douglas and Prutton were running around and putting themselves about and they (particularly Prutton) have attracted much of the flack. But overall they just didn't appear to have any idea about how they were going to play the game; too often players looked lost and they gave MKD far too much time and space.
There are too many good potentially players here to need to start from scratch next year but we desparately need some new blood in key positions and an inspiring coach who can get them playing as a team.

Hmmm..  where to begin.  I'll go with "Utter Shite".  More fool me for gaining a semblance of hope after last week.  As for Hart and his 4-3-3.  I'll believe it's 3 up front when the other 2 are in the same fucking postcode as Calvin Andrew when it arrives at him, let alone running beyond him for a flick on.

I'm not one for singling out players for criticism, but N'Diaye really was something else today.  If you're going to wear orange boots, you've got to be able to carry them off.  Remember Ronaldo and Ronaldinho with the gold ones, fair enough.  Michael Johnson with the gold running spikes, fair enough.  Looks like we could be seeing the launch of a limited edition pair of dog shit brown Predators any time soon.

Rant over.  Four wins from four to come.  We are staying up.  NURSE.  NURSE!!!!!!!!

he did provide some great entertainment and sending off Frampton should make our defence tighter for the next couple of weeks.

Frampton kept us in it in the first half with 2 or 3 important challenges and was about the only one to make any tackles. The defence has been a lot tighter with him in it than it was before. We'll see what effect it will have next week when he isnt in the team, my guess is the defence will be worse.

That said, the second yellow was brainless although I had no idea he'd been booked previously, he obviously would have known and should know better than to pick up another yellow 60 yards from goal.

The defensive record has been decent enough in the second half of the season, decent enough to stay up anyway. The problem is the chronic lack of goals. We could have played 5 hours of added time rather than 5 minutes and still not scored. The players dont look like they have any idea how to make our so called formation work.

It was obvious what sort of ref we were in for with the pre match pantomime delaying the kick off. Couldnt see what they were worrying about with the stratton bank goal unless they needed to brush away a few cobwebs!

Fair enough. We'll disagree on N'Diaye then. IMHO at least O'Brien shows the odd burst of speed. He even put a decent cross in this one time.

N'Diaye is clearly not a winger though. He showed flashes of skill, but so did onibuje tbf. He looks to me (or is at least built like) a central midfield 'enforcer', not an attacking outlet.

Some of the stick he got, whilst probably deserved, was properly ott by the crowd and the players. Douglas and Prutton were forever laying in to him. No wonder he got worse as the game went on.

Aye. Goodness knows where the ref and lino plucked that decision out from.

I think it must have been a push after he was tripped up. Somebody pushed back at their player.

Just got home, and Batch I have to say you're being far too polite in your comments. That was the first time I left a match early in 26 years voluntarily.

We'd best beer up for Notts County!

Douglas should stick to his own game as game as he was awful today, as he has been for a few games. Prutton has been the better central mid player and that hurts me to say that. I hate prutton but he has grown on me the last 4 games.

Quite. He just looked terrified, clearly played out of position, didn't know what he was supposed to be doing and scared witless of making a mistake. So quite how people getting on his back was supposed to improve him was beyond me. But he was still terrible, even if it might not have been wholly his fault

The game was shite, the ref was shite, and Hart must have his eyes tested if that was three up front.

And Franchise and their 'fans' are still as plastic as ever.

N'Diaye wasn't that bad.   :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:   Got good feet, a bit of skill. All he needs is a sense of urgency and some match fitness. Way better than O'Brien anyhow.

I particularly liked the bit of skill early in the second half after Ritchie had a shot across the face of goal where he got the ball on the byline, stood there clueless for about 10 seconds & then passed it straight to a Dongs player.
If only he had fallen over before getting to the ball we would have at least had a corner.

But I can forgive a player being shit, if he actually puts in a shift.
That's one of the reason that Matt Ritchie wins MOTM almost every game. Whether he plays well or not he is one of those players that tries non-stop.

Oh and a message to Paul Hart, "If you think we are actually playing with Three Strikers you need your fucking head examined".

It's no secret Hoddle was there. The beeb said they interviewed him and he was talking about the academy and stuff.

I don't think we should go jumping to conclusions, his academy means there is a perfect reason for it.

Here's a completly radical guestimate based on 1 or 2 facts(?)
Hoddles academy is based in Spain and (not sure about this one?) has provided a side in the spanish 3rd/4th division. He has a number of out of work British managers as coaches (Graham Rix etc)

Perhaps he, or one of his coaches, is going to manage the side with a significant amount of his acedemy players? - Just a guess!

Just to lighten the mood a bit while I sup my beer, got the Spirit of Punk 1977 playing on the ipod, this comes on by John Cooper Clarke and for some strange reason I immediately thought of our players. I know I really shouldn't comment having not been to that many games this season, but it really should have been a season full of promise and excitement. Here we go anyway

Like a Night Club in the morning, you’re the bitter end.
Like a recently disinfected shit-house, you’re clean round the bend.
You give me the horrors
too bad to be true
All of my tomorrow’s
are lousy coz of you.
You put the Shat in Shatter
Put the Pain in Spain
Your germs are splattered about
Your face is just a stain

You’re certainly no raver, commonly known as a drag.
Do us all a favour, here... wear this polythene bag.

You’re like a dose of scabies,
I’ve got you under my skin.
You make life a fairy tale... Grimm!

People mention murder, the moment you arrive.
I’d consider killing you if I thought you were alive.
You’ve got this slippery quality,
it makes me think of phlegm,
and a dual personality
I hate both of them.

Your bad breath, vamps disease, destruction, and decay.
Please, please, please, please, take yourself away.
Like a death a birthday party,
you ruin all the fun.
Like a sucked and spat our smartie,
you’re no use to anyone.
Like the shadow of the guillotine
on a dead consumptive’s face.
Speaking as an outsider,
what do you think of the human race

You went to a progressive psychiatrist.
He recommended suicide...
before scratching your bad name off his list,
and pointing the way outside.

You hear laughter breaking through, it makes you want to fart.
You’re heading for a breakdown,
better pull yourself apart.

Your dirty name gets passed about when something goes amiss.
Your attitudes are platitudes,
just make me wanna piss.

What kind of creature bore you
Was is some kind of bat
They can’t find a good word for you,
but I can...
TWAT.

I'll see your John Cooper Clark and raise you a Patrick Fitzgeralds Safety Pin Stuck In My Heart

I don't love you for your graveyard eyes
I don't love you for your shaven thighs
I just love you for that
 Beat-beat-beat-beat-beating

I don't love you for your tattered tie
 I don't love you, and I don't know why
I just love you for that
 Beat-beat-beat-beat-beating

I've got a safety pin stuck in my heart
For you, for you

I don't love you for your professed hate
I don't love you for your cards of fate
I just love you for that
 Beat-beat-beat-beat-beating

I don't love you for your painted shoes
I don't love you for your friends you never choose
I just love you for that
 Beat-beat-beat-beat-beating

I've got a safety pin stuck in my heart
 For you, for you

I don't love you for your many reasons
 Propagandas, doctrines, treasons
 All I know's that
 Beat-beat-beat-beat-beating

I've got an ear inflamed on my dog chain
 Painted faces, painted names -
My shirt - it's all that
 Beat-beat-beat-beat-beating

I've got a safety pin stuck in my heart
 For you, for you

I don't think I can remember a worse game than that. Management clueless, players clueless, officiald clueless. I came out of the game almost hoping that we were relegated already, so we can stop playing some of the senior players who won't be here next season, and clearly don't give a shit,  and start to field some of the fringe players who will be in the team next season.

They might have looked like they knew what they were meant to be doing but they still didn't fucking do it. And reposting what I said on the other thread:

In fairness he's been given an impossible task. He's been asked to polish a turd and not surprisingly instead of finding the gleaming nugget of gold we hoped lay within, he's succeeded only in covering the hanky in shit. The damage was done long before Hart arrived and the change was made far too late for anyone to turn it round. You could cut this squad in half and find "Loser" written down the middle like Blackpool in a stick of rock.

Today was a disgrace.

The usual one or two put in a shift, and deserve a place in the squad next season (Caddis, Ritchie, LJF). Too many so-called senior pro's just picking up wages (Douggie, Prutton, JPM.)

Prutton is the biggest fucking joke in our squad tho. You've no doubt watched it already, but take a few minutes out of your life and have another decco at his pre-season interview.

His words are coming back to bite the cocky, Northern cunt on the arse now!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3BYDY4hMFg

Cant help wondering what might have been if we'd kept Greer at the club for another season. I don't blame him for fucking off after we refused to extend his contract, but, equally, I dont blame Wilson for his departure after hearing Greer telling it like it was at the time.

I'd thought Hart was doing ok until yesterday.

Surely N'diaye's height means he should be playing through the middle?

We needed a pair up front playing close together, whenever Andrew did win a header he was completely isolated and there was no one near him to pick up the ball.

At 1-0 down we should have thrown caution to the wind and gone for it. We simply didn't.

We're going to need a new manager and pretty much a new team over the summer. We need to appoint the new permanent manager now with the amount of player movement required and Hart is not the man.

Hart is only doing what he's done at the other clubs he was brought in to save from relegation. Stopped them leakng 2/3 goals a game and picked up draws, and sneaked an occassional win. He only won 3 games in the relegation fight at Palace.

Trouble is they weren't in anything like the shit that we were when he took over.

Their centre halves - didn't have to work hard at all. Our centre halves got consistently raped by that big lump up front.

Anyone else concerned we might be paying for more young unproven players from Hoddle's academy? Shouldn't Fitton be focusing on who to appoint for next season (or is this a done deal). If so, is the manager having a say as to who he can bring in and where the money is spent?

Paul Hart = Wanker.  Any small part of understanding/respect that I had left for the man due to what he has to work with disappeared after hearing his after match interview.

The man is quite obviously a complete tool that should be nowhere near any football club let alone ours.

Time for a complete change.  Fuck the same old names that have been banded about.  Let's go for the untried young upcoming manager, whether ex player or not, so that we can produce the next Paul Tisdale esk type of manager.  We haven't done that since the likes of Macari, Ardiles and Hoddle.  It worked back then, irrelevant of what they went onto achieve in their managerial careers.  They were good times, and apart from last year we haven't had many of them recently so time for a complete change in strategy from the board me thinks.  Fuck Hart, Fuck Trollope, fuck em all.....

Time to think outside the box Fitton, ask for patience from the fans and build something great that is sustainable for the long term, not just for 1 fucking season.

Would we have been better off having not signed Austin in the first place?

That was the point I was making in response to Dave's post.

And besides, is it Fitton's responsibility to identify new players or is that perhaps the managers job?

Hart is only doing what he's done at the other clubs he was brought in to save from relegation. Stopped them leakng 2/3 goals a game and picked up draws, and sneaked an occassional win. He only won 3 games in the relegation fight at Palace.

Trouble is they weren't in anything like the shit that we were when he took over.

If he'd won 3 games for us we'd be a few points clear of the drop zone!
We're in worse shit now than when Hart arrived.

Title: Re: Swindon Town vs MK Dongs Matchday Thread

Its less so interference and more so silly restrictions from what I can gather.

The example being not opening contract talks in the summer. Not interference as much but a restriction that ties a managers hand. Surely if he wants to sign an existing player up long term in the summer before the season starts he has ever right to start the negotiations.

We might pick up a couple of wins and another draw form the last four games. That would make his record here almost identical to the one at Palace. It still won't be enough though.

I hope not. He's been poor so far - in his defence playing a bit part in a shit team but he has shown very little.

The length of the contracts arent a problem its when we renew existing ones. I know its a point that we've gone over 1,00000 times but its the best example.

Paynter gives us two decent years at Town. Brilliant, far from it! decent enough that we want to keep him, yes. After finishing 15th and Cox being sold - why not sit down an offer Paynter a 2 year extension?

Now its just my opinion but in July 09 if we'd offer Paynter a 2 year extension a slight pay rise and a slightly better goal scoring bonus he'd have signed. Then when he starts banging in the goal he's a Town player with 3 seasons left on his contract.

Instead we waited till 3 months into the season. He's had a good season and his agent will put the feelers out. Due to the good start Paynter no doubt wanted more money that he would have wanted 4 months previous because he's in a much stronger bargaining position after a good 3 months.

Would that have stopped him going? who knows....but he certainly wouldnt have gone on a free and could you see a team paying cash for Paynter...

All ifs and buts and a few maybes.

...and again, not sitting down with Greer when Brighton were interested was a mistake. By offering him new terms you make the decision wholly his. He turns it down and doesnt sign, we all know he wants to go and he become the villain. If he signs, great he wants to stay.

Have they learnt their mistakes dunno. We didnt sign Cuthbert or Douglas up longer term last summer and now can both go for free(ish). On the flip side I dont think it'll matter this summer because no one is worth offering an extension to anyway.

Title: Re: Swindon Town vs MK Dongs Matchday Thread
Post by: Batch on Sunday, April 17, 2011, 15:34:12
In July 09 Paynter hadn't done enough to earn a two year extension. It doesn't mean your point is less valid, just that Paynter is a poor example.

That said, it works both ways. Now we are down we can't afford players like Dossevi and Pericard pissing the budget away whilst sitting on a 2 or 3 year deal.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

That just his goal scoring record though. He added alot to the team that was there to see.

Maybe not 2 years, maybe just the one year extension so he had 2 years left to run. Either way I think the club were stupid not to offer him anything in July.

There's also the fact that his improved performance after that may have been down to him playing for a new contract.

Not saying that WOULD have been the case for Paynter, but there have been plenty of examples over the years of players losing a little bit after getting long term deals

Fair enough DV. Just saying that its not always easy to make the right call at the right time. We obviously didn't there, but with that goalscoring record I guess the club thought they had more time. But we did with Dossevi and a one year deal.

@Posh. Again not sure it's intentional. But JPM seems to fit that bill.

That's true.

As for Douglas, I do think he has missed having someone at the back that is comfortable bringing the ball out of defence (like you know who).
It has meant that he inevitably drops deep to get the ball from the back four, which means that either he is isolated & ends up trying a 30 yard ball to (as someone else mentioned) a player that can't control it, or the rest of the midfield ends up dropping deep to support him.

How many times has the club offered long term high salary contracts to players who subsequently turned to shit?

Fitton has got some things wrong but I reckon he's got the player contracts spot on. Sure we lose some decent players on free transfers, but we don't end up pissing away a small fortune on a player who can't even make the bench.

fitton has always interfered.
for instance byrne was not wanted by wilson.this was because byrne had fittons ear, and wilson didn't like it(rightly so)
token job given by fitton against wilsons wishes.byrne never got near the first team squad and slagged every other coach off until he left.
he was jealous and bitter.
hardly gonna have harmony in the camp is it?
add to that the transfers etc, etc.

if fitton had been here years he would have fans calling for his head.

I'd agree with the sentiment. Puzzled as to why you include Ferry in the list. When he has played he's looked as half-arsed (and unfit) as the rest and I assume the reason he's played so little under either manager is a failure to apply himself in training. Which hardly indicates he's bursting to give his all for the club.

Seems unlikely but he barely plays - no matter how wank Douglas and Prutton are.

But he does want to play for the club, he has just been ignored this season for some reason and is seriously unfit/overweight.  Whenever he is on the pitch though he performs like he cares, which is basically what we want all our players to do is it not?

Last years Ferry would be an asset in Lge2.  He would probably be the only player in that league that can play football the right way, although I do fear for his health with some of the cloggers down there.

To have one manager consistently overlook a player can just be down to a bad relationship and no fault of the player. To have two do so suggests the problem's with the player. We know it's not lack of ability, so I'd guess it's lack of effort in training. If you do know for a fact he wants to play for the club, then maybe he could start showing it by training with sufficient effort to get fit and shift some of that weight. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to keep hold of the Ferry we had last season if he can be got back

Saturday was just unbelievably dreadful and unlike previous losses at home where I thought oh well this team will be ok when we go down...I am now begining to think that we might well struggle in League 2. Ritchie apart the rest were abject.
