Title: Travel Suggestions
Post by: DarloSTFC84 on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, 10:53:31
Ok, as some of you are aware, I get married in April.

We don't go on our actual honeymoon until September, but I'm thinking of taking the Mrs away for a couple of nights straight after the wedding...

Anyone got any ideas? Budget isn't huge, I'm looking for something just as a getaway. I could be a City Break or Countryside retreat - anyone have any ideas?

If it's before the 9th April I hear that Bradford is very nice that time of the year  :)

Maybe a peak District break, where you could do a shopping / footy visit on the Saturday.

Dale away 30th April. I reckon you could have a decent weekend staying somewhere on the West Pennine Moors.

Glossop to Rochdale is only 22 miles, I am sure it's only a slight detour to the arndale centre en route.

Valencia is very nice - and around 20oC I reckon in April

Went there on Ryanair for about £50 each a few years ago, Holiday Inn is good, it's on the old dry river bed that's now a park.

Just checked the website - prices still under £50 - it's a no-brainer !

I don't work for the Valencia tourist board by the way, but you can get this for 3 nights for £189

Bilbao

1.5hrs with BA from Heathrow for £100. Great food, buildings, museums, plus a football ground in the town centre. And it's really good value.

What's the budget for hotel?

I'd say about £150 - we really want to stay in the country because there's so much to see here that we take for granted I think.

Login Cabin in the New Forest?

The ONLY downside to that, is we're only about 9 miles from the New Forest, so we're there relatively often..

I'm thinking more up north.

Maybe countryside or a city break.. not sure which yet..

£119 for two nights from 29 April to 1st May, not far from Rochdale ;). Close to Holmfirth.

Innkeeper's Lodge Huddersfield, Kirkburton
