Title: Bristol City Away - Live On Sky
Post by: Dr Pierre Chang on Monday, February 23, 2015, 16:06:55
Moved to Tuesday 7th April with a 19.45 kick off.

Do we expect this to ease the demand for tickets or are overnight queues ala Oxford 2012 inevitable? Depends how close it is at the top I guess.

The 'welcome to hell' banners and flares being chucked at our players in the inferno of ashton gate will look so much better under lights.

I may be being sarcastic.

How do you know you would get a ticket? Our allocation is only 1100 so if all ST holders were to apply (unlikely I know) there is no guarantee you would have got a ticket.

To be fair Paul with a crap allocation you might not have been able to go.

Hmmphh. Stop trying to be reasonable. I'm cross now and I'm going to sulk in my room and play my music loud.

Normally yes, but this has a slight advantage....day longer to recover from Sat v Dongs and shouldn't because of reduced capacity, many who would have gone can still see game.

From Sky's point of view it would have made more sense to show the Franchise game, City probably won't be caught

I took my mate from Mansfield Saturday. Told him the city game was a likely candidate for TV. That's two games he's seen with me. away v Blades Cpl of seasons ago when we lost 2-0 and Saturday. He's banned from future games this season should an opportunity arise.

She's fine with that sort of business, helped by the fact that Town haven't lost to City throughout our 11 years together. This stat will have to change eventually and I'm beginning to feel that I haven't made the most of this.

I'm not sure how entertaining the game will be, two tired sides.

Yeah right, bet you are just saying this as you are running scared of the cauldron atmosphere at Ashton Gate  (can a cauldron have any 3sides) and gives excuse not to go - I've heard they are proper nawty down that way ;D

Main reason it's shit is that we tend to play woefully the majority of times when we are on the telly!

When we were at home on Sky, the bloke in front of me watched the entire game on skygo on his mobile, he never looked up from his phone to watch the actual game in front of him, was very odd. I understand recording it and watching a penalty claim or something back later at home, but to sit in your seat and watch the game on a phone?! Makes no sense to me.

Maybe he pulled a sicky and was making sure he wasn't on TV whilst in the crowd..

I was planning on trying to get a ticket for this when it was scheduled for Easter Monday. I'm still going to try, but at least if I'm unsuccessful I'll be able to see the game in the pub. With only 1000 odd tickets being made available for the game, surely it's better for the majority of fans that it's televised? It may be frustrating for a minority, but tough shit.
