Useless bit of info I recently learned. Huawei is pronounced the same way a Geordie would say Howay (the lads)

Slightly more useful info, My brother in law has one and he loves it. Specs look decent.

I had a wah way G620s for a year, it was shit, touch screen not responsive and customized version of Android missing lots of features, I won't buy another Huawei.

I understand that this version is miles apart from anything they've ever done previously..

I had an earlier version of this brand of phone before they were really heard of. It was a cracking phone and lasted me 3 years before I renewed it and it still worked ok then. Had just slowed down a bit.

Excellent, thanks.

The reviews suggest the operating software skin and the camera interface are a bit clunky but otherwise a good phone

Excuse my ignorance, but what is software skin?..

I know what a camera is, just so you know.

A software skin is exactly why I didn't like the Huawei phone I had (in 2 years since I had my phone it appears they didn't learn)

They put their own version of Android using 90% of the standard Android software but with a few tweaks, which in Huaweis instance were crap (to me anyway).

Ahh.. I see.. hopefully they've upped their game.

I still have 5 weeks until I'm eligible anyway..

I always go into a shop and try out the phone in question when moving to a new one

Absolutely, as do I.. I just wondered what others have (potentially) found with them, that's all.

It was little things like you couldnt even assign each contact their own personalized message tone etc and they don't allow you to update Android versions as they are tied into the phone so even though  Lollipop came out you were stuck to Kitkat unless you "root it or jailbreak it" and that invalidates the warranty on some phones.

So even though it says Android it isn't really a true Android its based on Android.

Its as good a 2nd tier android phone as you're gonna get. We have one at work to test our app on and it doesn't really deal too well with it. Takes forever to charge too and the battery doesn't last long.

I'd go for a Galaxy or a oneplus3 way before I went for one of these

So I've had my P9 for a week now.. Love it..

Far better than my LG G3, it's smooth, and pretty good between apps.

The camera is phenomenal, too.

To stay with EE, they gave me 25GB data (previously getting 4GB), 15 GB Euro data plus calls, unlimited everything else.

All for the same price as before. Chuffed with that.
