Depends on whether his dispute with us is finished and he is paid up or else it will be like the Adkins thing where he is technically on gardening leave until its all sorted.

I have a feeling they will approach Adkins for this and its a job that will interest him as well so they will rush up his compensation package.

Shame about McDermott - seemed a genuinely nice fella.

I honestly dont see Paolo as the sort to get a side out of trouble with players he has inherited. He'll need to get a job in the close season with time to bring in his so successful foreign signings!!

I can't see who'd find the job an attractive proposition.

Worst squad by miles in the premier league and a pretty much guaranteed relegation. The fact that their big January signing were players from Crawley and Sheff United, while their competitors QPR, who he still kept them above in the league, were spending £18 million on Christopher Samba and Loic Remy, on £100,000 a week wages, speaks volumes about the sort of level he's been working at.

Having been dissatisfied at various times with having the best squad in League 1, Di Canio would do his nut on a playing field weighted that unevenly against him.

FFS, this makes me laugh - within a few minutes of McDermott being sacked Sky announce that Roberto Di Matteo and Nigel Adkins are the early favourites:

While the Daily Mail go for, surprise surprise, Di Matteo and Paolo Di Canio:

Do they just make it up on the spot or what?
