Spent on agents fees last season. Perhaps darren could lend us a tenner?

More than any team in league 1 and more than 9 teams in the championship.

Surely that's just players agents, not the clubs own agents?

We 'bought' so many players last year, so that figure doesn't surprise me.

But paying £6k a week to players means a higher figure paid to agents. You wait until the report next year.

Does that include PDC's agent fees too? I'd imagine he's not cheap.

Didn't Oxford say we're paying over 10k per week?

We paid 43% of the divisional total for the year?!  Of course you would expect our share to be well above average; the scale of the operation, from turnover to attendances to just about everything else was well above average for League 2.  But 43%?!  Ouch.

I thought this thread was going to be @macphlea's house valuation.

Not at all suprising considering the amount of transactions we made, it should be significantly less this year because we wont have to cancel so many contracts (hopefully).

Knew the board threw alot of money at it last year but that figure is more than I expected.

I wonder what percentage of that figure was paid out to agents were for players who have subsequently left?

What clarke cost us in total interests me most. Reckon that will top the lot on all counts

 We seem to have gone form one extreme to the other. What is certain is that if we don't go up this season, we should expect a period of retrenchment back to the previous failed policy.

You get what you pay for. Good players will have good agents, but that means a good team.

£450K is plenty justified cos we pissed the league.

Wouldn't have thought the likes of Magera and Clarke would have signed without a hearty pay-off to their agents

Funny how all the players agents like Benson etc are not mentioned....Flint and Fotheringham have agents,they are worth big bucks to us now...we got Benson for peanuts and the likes of Collins and Roberts are worth big money already.

When you look at half a million spent on agents fees then you should also look at what our players are worth now....the ones who were/maybe will be a success.

Though we did swap him for Benson in the end, I'd personally say the gains from having him for free outweighs the costs to Clarke.

Agents work for players... would it not make more sense if players paid them for their representation?

I've always thought that. Would need strong regulation brought in to stop them demanding fees from clubs before it would happen though, and that would be radical as it would completely change how football works. Not for the worse though!
