Found this on the Leeds Rivals site :

stoke fan here, this is only the beginning for you,i have it on sound advice that there is a lot more to come,i personally dont think you will be docked 15pts but i dont think that you will start the league season, what ken bates has done is not just trying to be clever with the F.L and trying to wipe the debts off by hook or crook but he has crossed over the line big style and the c.p.s are looking at bringing a case to court a.s.a.p and they say it is watertight and he will go to jail, what leeds the club(ken bates led) are trying to do is a massive fraud and the league will try to throw them out and give leeds a big ban,i hope it does'nt come to this but my info is spot on as you will find out soon(sorry cant say what job i do)

Very interesting if true.

Read this post on another forum, it's excellent and so very true aswell. It was written by an Oldham fan.

Quote
Whilst most don't do very much in an organisational sense, most everyone digs as deep as they can when hard times come knocking.

There are fans also that will do more than 'one feckin thing about it', even down to those that do several things about it. I am not going to use my own club as an example, but instead cite Wrexham, Stockport and Bury as prime movers and shakers (excuse the pun) about what fan power could bring about if the fans can believe enough that they can carry off such a gargantuan task.

Doubtlessly, L**ds is a different kettle of fish, but only in one way. The debt level. Let us not beat around the bush, it was an astonishingly badly run club for almost a decade. Whilst that is no fault of the fans, how many were happy to see them digging themselves into an ever increasing black hole in search of the ultimate success? Not many stood up and said 'hang on a minute' when they were splashing money around all over the place. In fact one of the two things that grates with me is the ignorance of the whole situation when they were high flyers.

While 'us' minnows were scratching around in the dirt for pennies to try and meet the day to day running costs to keep our respective clubs afloat, they were out spending more on bloody goldfish for the official entrance at E****d Road.

It is no secret I don't like them, in fact, (and whilst hate is an often over used term, I do hate them) I am glad they are suffering, though not at the expense of their clubs survival. The one thing I will give them is I am glad they have survived this ordeal.

Now some may see that as a daft statement, but in my time as a formative football fan, L**ds v Oldham was a very big game for us both. Most of the woolly worriers will be too young to remember I expect.

I wish though that football fans would have had more time for the likes of Scarborough. A good decent club, though it probably meant very little to most in the town (probably too many L**ds fans in the town), it had a local identity and was lost forever because, in general, the footballing world was more interested in a spat between Bates, HMRC and the FL. Barely an eyelid was batted when the Seagulls went under.

Why?

L**ds are a big name. Yeah we all know that.

Do they though have any more right to our sympathies than Scarborough fans who lost their club for ever? Than those of York City who were owned by a charltan and fraudster who was only interested in financial gain and ploughed the club into none league, and much the same at Wrexham - a property developer bought and tried to sell them, it was only his own loose tongue that prevented another club going to the wall.

In my book no, they aren't even in the same league. L**ds United have been the biggest enemy of L**ds United for years. Consistently they have spent money they could ill afford to try and regain what they thought was their rightful place. No team has a right to any place in the leagues, you are where you deserve to be. One day the organisational people behind them will realise that is the truth and stop spending silly money.

I don't think they deserved to fold, mainly for the sake of the fans. I do think though that they deserve the points penalty. Whilst I expect a lot of Leeds fans will see this an an injustice, the fact that they still haven't agreed the CVA means that the league have bent over backwards to grant them back the share to be in a position to play, but they must suffer the consequences of such a gesture of goodwill.

I'm sorry, I can't feel any pity for them, my heartbreak goes out to the fans that I see as a more deserving cause. Fans that will never get the chances that L**ds have had (and still won't take) and now they have lost a lot, and in one case, everything.

Oh, the other thing that grates?

Lack of humility and willingness to accept that they are where they are because they are not good enough to be any higher. I think they would do well to take a leaf out of the book of the Nottingham Forest supporters. History means nothing, nor does how many fans you have. The only real statistic that counts is the present. They are where they deserve to be. Bottom of League One and fifteen points away from the next club.

Best team in the world my arse!

I hope that they survive, but I hope they get relegated. One blessing is that one of the first real emnities of my childhood can now re-commence.

The message is ok, but it's fucking awful. It jumps around to different unconnected points like an epileptic flea. I struggled to read that.

Bates thinks he can play the Inland Rev, he deserves everything he gets. But the thing is a way to punish him and not the club as a whole.
On the other hand I cannot stand Leeds, but when thing like this happen it cannot be good because 100% certain other clubs will follow in the future

FFS though the media go on about Leeds being a 'big club', maybe years ago but now they are in the same league as Northampton and Cheltenham - get real

Leeds are still a big club. They should be bigger. But their away support will be awesome everywhere in this league. Its not about what league you play in.

Why? the position of the football league is spot on and strictly speaking are being kind in allowing them to start the season at all. The problem is Bates not the football league ...

That's correct Glos. Bates has been trying to play the system, and both HMRC and the FL have now stood up to Bates. Leeds might feel hard done by, but by the rules they should not be playing in the FL next season.

I won't begin doing anything close to lauging at them, we still have absolutely no idea what the FL thinks of our situation whereby we have failed to meet the CVA terms and are now seeking to vary them after the due date for the final payment.

I don't even remember something like the Leeds punishment being in the rules as such, so it seems the FL is happy to go beyond what we know.  All we know is our situation is a new one for the FL.  I imagine if we get 10 points deducted then Oxford fans will quickly be on to sites like this gloating and luaghing at us, just imagine that thought before sticking the fingers up at leeds.
