I like reading stuff like this http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26351353I saw Tom Finney was buried today, a lot of people saying he would have been as good as Messi/Ronaldo back then. I guess everyone on here is too young to have seen him, Reg? Just before my time, I remember Stanley Matthews turning out in his last season or so aged about 50.

Would it not have been even more heart warming if he hadn't dived in the first place?

Well said Jan.
Didn't Owen once do that but the ref gave the penalty anyway? Mind you he since admitted he ived to win penalties for England.

I remember Fowler doing something similar and the penalty being awarded anyway.

No I don't think it would. As the fact he went down and decided to fess up makes it more admirable in my eyes. You can almost see how disappointed in himself he is.

Didn't he get banned for racially abusing Micah Richards? Some role model.

Regrettably, they might. The club stealing wankers have one of the best community policies in the league and put some serious efforts into getting the next generation into the ground. Doesn't excuse the club stealing wankerdom, but it's noteworthy.
