Having recently been in the market for a lappy myself I found I used the benchmark comparison web sites a lot.
I would suggest spending just a few pounds more and getting this one from Tesco for £339.
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.212-1325.aspxIf processor speed isn't an issue then ebuyer outlet express (via ebay) was selling a 2GB, P6200 pentium version of this for £255 delivered (with free case and anti-virus crap-wear).
An extra 2GB of ram is £10.
Deal looks to be off right now but has been on and off recently a worth a check if you can wait. Delivery speed was next day.
Disappointing aspects:
- Sound is too quiet on max volume.
- Battery life is a little disappointing (i3 should be better in this respects)
- Screen is bright if a little reflective, but poor viewing angles and a tendency to make some things a little 'blocky'. My 8 year old Dell had a better screen (but was £900) new
Minor quibbles, £250 for a capable general purpose Win 7 laptop is value for money in my book.
