We stayed on a camp style site with lodges, pools, a decent bar etc, about 8 miles out of the city. Train ride into the city was easy enough. I got into an argument with a guy trying to sell bottled water, that he'd filled up from one of the many drinks fountains  Smiley

Edit. Place we stayed was Camping Village Roma Capitol. We were not to far from the beach at Ostia too. Reckon you could get 7 nights in the summer for around £350.

We did Bologna last year. Loved it. Stayed here. https://www.l8boutique.it/en/index.html

Easy access via a dedicated train from the airport. Easy train ride away for a day out in Florence. Bologna is not very touristy but I prefer that type of thing. Not cheap though, like anywhere in Europe the euro is shocking against the pound.

Very pleasant 20C in Athens. The place is still rammed. Had a few of these last night. Cue schoolboy sniggering

We stayed about 8 miles out at a camping chalet place, pool and bar, restaurant. Quick train ride into Rome. Only a mile from the beach too.

Trying to decide on a UK summer break, considering a centreparcs, possibly Sherwood. Anyone done one? How much are the activities? Is there an alternative that's similar? Ta

We’re going there in April, can’t book the activities yet so can’t talk about the costs but appears to be plenty to do.

I did something totally out of my comfort zone.

Booked a two night break to Albania. First time solo travel. Fuck. Flights and accommodation under £80.

Going for a city break in Cardiff in a couple of weeks meeting up with some family who are going to egg chasing.

Any recommendations for the best area to get a bite to eat and a few beers? Ideally with a little bit of touristy stuff thrown in, but not too much as we're only there 24 hours.

Thanks.
