can always add more ram but as long as you have a good video card then games / vids will be fine with what you've got.

I like being a generation behind and my trusty PIII 500mhz, 384mb of ram and 64mb geforce something graphics card has done me good over the years. However I'm running out of running out of older PC games to play and emulation of the more complex n64 and Psx games can get a bit choppy at times (although mario64 plays flawlessly which can still keep me amused for hours)

Anybody got some old computer bits they want to donate to me?

Ace you legend. I can continue to build up my ram inefficiently with crazy sums of random powers of 2.

although if you have 384mb i'm guessing you have 2 slots with a 128mb and 256mb, swapping the 128 for a 512 would give you 768meg, which is the same as i have, the spare ram i have doesn't fit my laptop which is why its spare.

its random access memory, essentially makes your PC faster at doing stuff, as long as your processor is not the weakest link.

I have a 400GB samsung hard drive which cost 80 quid so don't get too smug.

I think it's got 3 128's, not sure though. I'll have a look.... Yep 3 128's. Is 3 the normal amount of ram slots you get? I've never thought about it before but it seems like a weird number.

I'll swap out one of the 128's for a 512 then. Should work out ok.

I should really put the side of my computer case back on properly at some point, meh I'm sure it helps it keep it cool.

Any body want an extra 128mb's of ram?

I've just looked on PC world's website.

You can get some serious PC for £500 now.

360 GB hard drive and 2 GB RAM.

as long as they are DDR DIMM slots then it should be fine, might need to flash your bios after installing it though. most motherboards come with 4 slots but i guess some had 3 - not something i know lots about.
