never really thought Bart was that bad. not great, but ok.

Remember a Bart howler, against whom escapes me atm.  The oppo had a free kick... fella shanks it, straight at Bart who lets it through his legs, it still doesn't have the power to reach the goal, but he fails to react quickly enough as someone nips in and taps it in

I do remember Glass being absolutely useless though

I don't think he was that bad, but we do tend to recall the bloopers, and they all make them, the better keepers just make fewer. Alternatively we also remember the odd game when a keeper just plays out of his skin, or does something like Brez save 2 pens on debut.

There was another game at the old Den, midweek, about 91/2. I didn’t go, but remember it from the highlights video of that season. Hammond made some incredible saves. Sadly it was a Cup game (Zenith game maybe) so the highlights don’t appear to be on Swindon-town-F.C. People always unfairly judge keepers on isolated errors, and pretend that’s the norm. Bart Griemink, Jimmy Glass - now they were poor goalkeepers. Hammond was fine.

I think this must be it:

Perfect, thank you. I could spend hours on the site. Ended up watching a good half hour of us beating Oxford 4-2 at the Manor Ground last night.

New manager obviously does not rate him

Is that a loan move from Chesterfield? Might actually be a better prospect for him. Wasn't great but I'm sure he could do a job lower L2/higher NL. A cusp player as such.

Yep a loan, not sure the length though.

He always looked ok going forwards but couldn't defend to save his life, hes a his level even if it is a sideways move divisionally for him.

Not a player and only a tenuous connection with Town but anyway... Roger Malone is still alive and now lives in Florida (for half of the year).  In the photo (from 2017), he appears to be standing next to the deceased Charlton Heston

"Legendary" and "famous".  Huh? And still alive, which is disappointing.

Flashbacks to HTV, Bruce Hockin and the Roger Malone chant by the Town End.

We did rule the West Country and probably not even Reg contemplated that we would one day be visiting former non-league clubs on a regular basis for the main local derbies.

I was interviewed by Roger Malone 3 times for HTV back in the 80s and TBF he was a really nice bloke, he just loved Bristol though!
