Even without the injuries, playing 4-5-1 tonight wouldn't be a bad idea and I'd prefer it to 4-4-2 with Ward up front. Though I'd be tempted to put Ward in the centre and have him push up a bit with Marshall on the left, so more of a 4-4-1-1. A lot happier with Austin as the sole striker, as the chances of him missing two good chances in a game are pretty remote - just need to give him a sniff and he'll score.

Its a far more important game for Southampton than us, they pretty much need to win every game they've got left to make the playoffs. Which could work in our favour - they'll be going all out for a win and if our defence can hold out we stand a good chance of sneaking it.

I don't have a good feeling about this one at all. However, I've said that many times and have been proven wrong more than once!

A glorious night for football underlights, great stadium and pitch. We have good players who'll love it. As long as we start well we should be ok. Keeping the crowd a litlle quiet will be key.

I am a bit worred though about their obvious threat in the air and pace out wde.

Still this is what it's all about, have a good night out everyone Cheesy

The pressure is off us tonight after Saturday's events and Ston's desperate need to win every game. This I'm hoping will work in our favour tonight.

If we can hold them out for 30 mins, & quieten their fans, then it's all to play for.

However if we have a poor start, then it could be unpleasant viewing and there'll be plenty of Town fans back at that park & ride by 9:15.

I'm optimistic that we can avoid the 2nd scenario though.

A34/M3/M27 here I come.

The title of this thread is all wrong.  'Saints vs Swindon' sounds like a Southampton fan has started it.  'Southampton vs Town' or something similar would be much more acceptable.

I think we'll grab a 1-1 draw with (shock) a late equaliser of our very own.

I don't get all the negativity about this match. So we're playing Southampton, people forget we're 6th in the table.

I reckon we'll win 2-1.

If we are (we're) serious about promotion then we will (we'll) need at least two points from our next two games. I think the performance tonight matters more than the outcome of the game.

I think we do tend to do ourselves down.  Probably because we still cant believe that we're actually good.  Many years of mediocrity took care of that.  Draw or 2-1 win for us in a hard fought game is my bet.

And I cant go.  Im stuck working in Brizzole.  Arse!
