My only real gripe is this.
Power baulked at signing Eckersley - presumably cos of wages - a player we could really do with at the moment.
Now, if we added Brad Barry's wages to what we were prepared to pay Eckersley we would probably could have afforded him.
It just stinks a bit to me that we will fork out for this season's Agombar to the detriment of adding a useable player.

thing is Audrey, even if that's true it would break the wage structure. then you create a 'but if he's paid that much, I deserve this'.. somewhere down the line.

Quite, we don't know how much he wanted, if he'd been in the MLS recently it could be pretty high. Even if he is what we need, you can't say to the likes Robert during negotiations 'We only pay this much, like it or lump it', then give Eckersley three times as much.

I have a hunch on George Moncur, assuming Kasim leaves. His name just keeps on popping up. that would be good, I kind of expect a few of this type of deal if Byrne/kasim/smith all leave to be honest. I can't see Power leaving it all down to the last minute in terms of agreements pending sales. |
