I was also disappointed by Crash but I don't know why. I think I expected more due to rave reviews from friends.

Crash is on at the moment. I think it's the fifth time i've seen it. It's rare that i really, truly love a film, but it's truly, truly epic. It's an absolute tour da force of film, poignant and unlifting. I really forget how good it is, it's a fucking masterpiece.

Yes who'd have thought a film about people who have get sexually excited by car crashes could be such a poignant masterpiece!

Saw Benjamin Button last night.  Great if you're hungover and got 3 hours to kill with the old mind switched off 7/10

I see that they have just announced Lost Boys 3 "The Thirst".  Sequel was appalling but the original was fucking brilliant.

Watched a few films this weekend...

Midnight Cowboy - Superb, I'm a big movie fan but sometimes I struggle with the acclaimed, gritty post-Hays code movies. But Voight and Hoffman are truly brilliant in Midnight Cowboy. Brilliant direction by the late John Schlesinger.

Flags of our Fathers - A film directed by Clint Eastwood always tends to be interesting and I liked Flags... a lot. You take U.S. history lessons via Hollywood with a pinch of salt but we know the Yanks had to exploit "heroes" and Eastwood shows the absurdness of the politics of war really well.

King of Comedy - Enjoyed, not Scorsese's greatest but still a good little stalker movie with some funny moments. Good performance from Jerry Lewis too.

With regards to Crash, i didn't like it the first time i watched it, but then grew to love it.

Watched The Hangover today (decided to download about 6 films when i went to bed last night). I started watching it when dropping the kids off this morning and finished earlier. I thought it was gash, but then i was told it was hilarious. Reminded me of Fear and Loathing, just more teenage-ified. And what the fuck was the old girl sucking the bearded blokes cock all about in the credits?! You see a hard cock and you see it being sucked?! Are censors being more tolerant?

I didn't think the hangover was very good either. Typical "wacky" crap american comedy. You can imagine it being watched by immature college kids chugging kegs of piss weak bud light. Roll Eyes As they sort of comedies go it wasn't the worst ever but that's not saying much cos the standard is fucking low.

Have people seen the other Crash film I was referring to?

It is very fucked up but not actually that good.

Wattched 'In The Loop' tonight.

The funniest film I've ever seen. A modern masterpiece.

Finally got round to watching Moon just now.

Great soundtrack, the whole thing looks and feels pretty real, Sam Rockwell was brilliant, and I genuinely liked and cared about the characters. Definitely worth a watch.

I don't know much about that picture, I watched the Hangover at the cinema, I saw the candid montage in the end credits but I imagine that didn't make the cut in the cinemas - I can't remember that.

The bearded chap is Zach Galifianakis, who is by trade a fine stand-up comedian.

Yeah, i think it must be an uncut version, because that's obviously not the kind of material you'd get in a 15 cert.

He's probably the only redeeming feature of that film. To think my sister was going to buy this film for my Mum for Christmas to watch as a family... I think i would have curled up into a little ball had i had to look at photos of a blwojob with my family.

I saw it in the cinema in America, and the picture was most definitely in the credits over there. It made me think that it was not too long ago that you could only see that kind of stuff in hardcore porn, definitely not mainstream cinema. I worked at a summer camp and there were 11 year olds who'd seen the Hangover and Pineapple Express, not something I'd be keen on letting my kids watch at that age.

Also they have a different rating system over there, so after over an hour watching Bruno, with cocks being swung around and champagne bottles inserted up anuses, as i got up to leave there was a family of four sat a few rows behind us, two kids around 15 years old and elderlyish parents. If I'd seen that with my Mum and Dad I would have died of embarrassment.
