Title: SSDs Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, 09:40:33 My 500gb SSD is almost full. Currently using a Samsung Evo 512GB but the next model up is well out of my price range. Can anyone recommend a decent SSD that's 1TB or more in size and that doesn't break the bank?
Thanks. Title: Re: SSDs Post by: Peter Venkman on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, 09:50:57 Unfortunately there are so few high capacity SSD's that are affordable, the best value for money is the Sandisk 960gb but its still £202.

Title: Re: SSDs Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, 10:38:27 Are you putting everything on SSD? It seems a bit excessive.
Have you considered an SSHD for games, I’m sure you don’t play every single one you have all of the time. This would work out a lot cheaper with far higher capacity. Title: Re: SSDs Post by: Peter Venkman on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, 10:41:25 I personally use a 240gb SSD for my OS, a 500gb SSD for Steam games only (95% full so I need an upgarde soon) and 4tb for music/pics/other stuff.
I have never used a hybrid SSD/HDD myself but it may be an option for you Jayo, certainly cheaper. All my PC data is games or saved game data :) TC shows, films etc are all on my NAS Title: Re: SSDs Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, 11:04:22 Crucial 750GB is in Amazon's Prime Day deals today: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-MX300-750GB-Internal-Solid/dp/B01DUNLMUU/ That is an excellent deal Title: Re: SSDs Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, 11:06:18 Not generally sold on hybrids, anyone used one in anger?

Some of the market place sellers are doing that SSd cheaper (£150 including delivery) Title: Re: SSDs Post by: Samdy Gray on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, 12:15:58 Some of the market place sellers are doing that SSd cheaper (£150 including delivery) Amazon's price has gone back up. It was just over £100 yesterday. Title: Re: SSDs Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, 14:33:36 Amazon's price has gone back up. It was just over £100 yesterday. I assume Jayo didn't buy it on Prime Deal day :) Title: Re: SSDs Post by: jayohaitchenn on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, 15:45:51 You assume correctly
