Sounds like it might be like when we played Manure at home in a friendly in the 80s. We even played in our away kit of yellow and blue so that Manure could play in their traditional red. It was basically their youth team.

What was that awful occasion when we played a home League game in white and MK Donkeys played in all red?

At the rate Liverpool are going, we'll probably have Mario to entertain us at least.

They've now got 7 strikers on their books.

Was thinking of going originally but I do not like Liverpool after Shankley dismissed our footballing ability when we beat them in the League Cup way back, and I really do not want to see their third team play. The only thing that might change my mind is seeing how the "new" signings shape up.

Seeing as there is nothing coming out of the club, I presume any of the triallists appearing against WBA will have gotten contracts.

That is if they actually bother to tell the fans who is playing.

Is the Liverpool game genuinely sold out, for a friendly?..

TBF to Power....we have never ever in my 40 years of watching Swindon told the press or fans who the trialists are in pre season friendlies. Seems standard practice in lower leagues to try and get one over other clubs.

That's fine, but when that extends to players already contracted it makes no sense.

I had to work out for myself who Traore, Boo, the Liverpool loanees were against Villa.

Just like you always had to do then? If you can't figure out where our left back is playing we've got problems.  As someone who doesn't really watch friendlies, I always have that first league game of the season challenge of working out new faces.

Only asking for names on shirts for contracted players.

Can you offer any idea why they couldn't manage that?

Nope other than the fact they have never done it. Sorry, not a valid argument as its ALWAYS been done that way. Pre Season games never carry players names on shirts.

Possibly because players have not been allocated squad numbers at this stage.
