Thanks for that, first time to watch the goals and penalty shoot out for me.  Ward has got a sweet left foot

I never tire of reliving Charlton away. I only managed to get a ticket at the last minute on the day of the match. So glad I did, it was one the great Town games. I know the season ended in bitter disappointment but it was almost worth it just to experience that night. 3000 proper Town fans really getting behind the team as they should. Fuck Wembley.

Was amazing, I got picked up from school at 3:30 and went straight down there with my step dad. Being a fat cunt I made him stop and get me a subway, and we hit all the trafic in London, getting there at around 7:30. To top it all off, i had my RE GCSE the next day  :)

Charlton Away made enduring Wembley worth it. What i mean is Wembley was passively disappointing, but the memory of going mental when the winning penalty at Charlton went in overrides it.

To top it all off, i had my RE GCSE the next day  :)

Charlton Away was more important than any RE GCSE. Surely that's a GCSE  nobody in the real world cares about!

Thanks for that. Got my mug on tv that night at The Valley :D

Probably the greatest night I've ever had watching Swindon.

Definitely the best Town game and the best football feeling in a long time.

I haven't watched the away leg and pens for a while, must do again later.

And I still wear the not-quite-match-worn Timlin shirt that got thrown at me.  It's a bit big so it's in the evening when I'm relaxing and want to feel comfortable.    Perhaps that says something about Timlin?

The line from Martin Tyler leading up to Ward's goal at the CG is an absolute classic, up there with 'Some people are on the pitch....They think it's all over...It is now!!' and 'Where were the Germans?...But frankly.. Who cares?!!'.

I had one of my finals the day after Charlton away. There was no way I was missing the game though, and what a decision that turned out to be. Amazing night, and definitely a memory that will last a long time.

I could have gone to Charlton away if I hadn't spent money going to Millwall away last game of the season in the hope we got automatic promotion.

Best feeling, for me, since Wembley in '92. Awesome night.

Pretty sure I also had an exam the next day...it didn't go well. Hell of a night all the same though.

Love the atmosphere at the County Ground in the home leg on the video....like the days of old it was.

It certainly was a night never to be forgotten and I'm so glad me and my dad decided to go.  My brother still hasn't recovered from the fact that he decided against it!  I don't think I've ever felt so emotionally drained after watching a football match.  I'll also never forget getting into work late the next morning and getting high fives from loads of my colleagues who don't follow Swindon but had all watched the match on Sky and got totally caught up in it all.

It's nice to watch it again, because annoyingly our Sky HD box wiped a load of things while we were on holiday including all the play off games (not too worried about the final, but would have liked to keep the semis!)

Let's hope this season brings some good memories too!

Weird isn't it....as soon as we lost at Wembley, I consigned the whole thing to the bin. Somehow it had no meaning....

I will agree with the second statement....bit low key so far  :(

Reminiscing about last season already, this season must be going well...

I hope it isnt another 5 years before we get there again.

Anyone know the whereabouts of the Charlton guy doing commentary for Ward's goal while stood on the Bank?
