Which in itself is quite pericarpian. Smiley
I like that word, I shall use it in my real life too not just the TEF usage!

All cars should have lights on by default.
I think that cars are all now built to have daytime driving lights by law since 2011. I know mine has them but mine is a Volvo!

Aren't they just the shitty twinkly lights though?

I think in Norway it's law that you have to drive with dipped headlights on no matter what the time of day, although this may be due to the insane amount of very lengthy tunnels

I don't know how the law itself stands but I know my friends brand new VW Polio has dipped beam lights on all the time and the Citroen C4 has dipped beams constantly as I test drove one last week.

I think its only a small selection of them that have silly little running lights like fog lamps on.

My sister's VW is the same. Bizarrely the lights are dipped on every setting (including auto) except sidelights, which is just sidelights. Weird.

alot of drivers who think they are good are not. So you have to slow down a bit to let a lorry overtake another? So what, it looses a few seconds or you can move out to the outer lane when clear. I put my indicator on in good time when i can see the outside lane is clear, this means the car in the middle lane only has to move over and nobody gets held up.

Around 50% of drivers won't move over and hog the middle lane meaning i have to break and wait for them to pass before attempting the same move again. Car drivers don't respect lorries and i get idiots pulling infront of me in the safe distance i keep between the vehicle infront every single day. usually happens at exits where they don't want to sit behind a hgv so they cut me up instead. Most of the time i catch them up at lights so they do that stupid dangerous act for nothing.

Might seem like no problem until you have to stop and it takes longer to do so or you swerve at that speed instead of 70mph(guess who has been doing driver courses recently?)
My driving has calmed down loads over the last few years. Don't speed at all anymore(much to the annoyance of tailgating cars behind me)

Undoubtedly it takes longer to slow down. But you can't tell me that driving at 90 is more dangerous that tailgaiting at 65. Or doing 70 in a torrential downpour. Or 36 in a crowded  town centre.

Any speed is dangerous when it is inappropriate.

Oh the irony! Not you personally- well probably not, but the number of time 56.2 Mph has pulled out to overtake 56.1 Mph lorry on a dual carriageway for miles is numerous. Worse on hills, the difference between 70Mph and 45 is considerable.

I think its fair to say that there is a healthy disrespect between some lorry drivers and some car drivers. We should join forces and gang up on motorcylists who filter at 60MPH

A good truck driver being overtaken by another will ease off the gas to help the process go quicker.
There are twat truckers for sure, but there are more twats in cars.

Many car drivers just hate having to slow down regardess of the type of road. Following a truck doing 40mph on a single carriageway= crazy overtaking madness on bends etc.

True.  Quite how more people don't die on the Fosse Way is a minor miracle.
