Fryers easily skinned again.
Hes better going forward than defending. Twine coming on to waste a few secs time.

I think that scoring more than the opposition could be key to promotion this season

Carlisle comms now full of praise for Swindon saying we deserved to win by more goals and that they are very impressed with our team.

Thoroughly deserved. It was flattering for Carlisle that they got 1, let alone 2.

We still need a striker (he says, after we score 3).

We look susceptible to wingers running at out fullbacks, but other than that, a pretty solid performance.

Great win. All the more sweet to rub it in to the bitter mackem, Chris Slumsdon!

That should help boost the numbers at the next home game.

Interestingly (or not), Scunthorpe proving they aren't the team they think they are...were leading 0-1 v Numb...Numb turn it around and spank them 4-1. Connor Thomas scoring there. Bradford also finding a start difficult. Plymouth cruising as expected. Walsall rescue a point v FVR.

Back to back wins from the off, great stuff and this is truly a Wellens side and ideas being implemented now. It looks good. Fryers does look a little suspect defensively but if he can pop up with 1 goal in 4 or similar, I'll take that. Will say it again...IF we somehow pull off Hylton then we will go very close to winning this league!

You might want to have a think about rephrasing that.

They didnt say that. Just that he shot poorly and should have scored.

It wasn't a poor shot, it was excellent goalkeeping, he put the ball across goal as he should any wider and he would have missed the goal or the ball wouldn't have reached Keshi, if you want him to chip the goalkeeper then you are looking at the wrong division.

Good performance, should have had three more easily.  Woolery's miss on top of a couple in the first half and we'd have been out of sight.

Carrol's sending off came from a few minutes earlier when we didn't get a free kick (Woolery being blocked off on the edge of the box).  Lyden put a niggly little knee in his back/back of his leg, which he didn't like - he pointed at Lyden when he got up off the floor.  Lyden is a better version of him, based on his two performances thus far.  I like him.

Yates looks a very good signing and if Anderson and Woolery can continue to add support, maybe that front man is a luxury addition.

Doughty is an issue defending in a two man midfield, he does let people ghost past him, but on the flip side he creates so many opportunities with the front four having bags of pace and movement.

I'd be happy with either of Carlisle's wingers.  They looked very tasty and had our fullbacks on toast when they were released.  It's a shame for them that everything else in their team is lacking.  I don't think Fryers will have a player like that to defend every week.

The second goal was a mix of the winger having the beating of Fryers and the defenders completely switching off from our first clearance.  They had about three runners free - Wellens should have a word with them about that, don't want bad habits being allowed to creep in.

Overall, after two games, it's looking good for the season.  We are more creative than we were last season, so while a forward would be nice, it looks like we will create enough for the supporting players to chip in this season.

So a striker, Hylton?, with Yates up top and making Woolery and Anderson compete for a place and that is looking a tasty attacking group with Isgrove impressing more and more for me.
