We don't have any wingers either so surely you need a tight midfield. A fit Doughty, Kasim and give Tom Smith a go. Then Murray/Goddard behind a front 2.

I don't think we have the worst players individually.

But teams know exactly how we are going to play. And what they have to do to stop us playing.

Look at Bristol Rovers last night; usually play 442 but changed last night to 433. When do we ever adapt or do anything different?

A 442 diamond is probably the best alternative given the lack of wide midfielders.

I would try Thompson at the base, Furlong at RB and move Kasim forward in place of Smith.

I'd much, much rather have Thompson as CB than Branco if we go to a 4. Which we won't. And shouldn't.

If a team plays 3 up front you have to go to a 4, you can't play 3 on 3, that is school boy stuff. To be honest we shouldn't play 3 at the back anyway as it requires 3 very good and mobile defenders for it to work properly, even top teams struggle when they attempt it.

We've had three at the back work recently, we've had it fail spectacularly.

The two main issues as I see them isn't exactly formation based, but are

   1. The inability to change it around when we need to. Which is now harder due to injuries.
   2. Persistent over playing of the ball, particularly in dangerous areas.

They (management) must be happy to have this as its been clearly going on for nearly 3 seasons now.

Additionally, this year and on this form:
   3. We look as potent as a Top Deck shandy
   4. We are making dumb arse individual errors on top of the collective coached fannying around with it.

Fingers crossed 3 and 4 are temporary

For those of you who didn't have the 'pleasure' of being there last night.  Actually, I remember it being a lot worse than these 'highlights' suggest.

BOO has got off lightly from criticism.  Look at how the penalty came about.  A long, aimless punt which he has plenty of time to prepare for and yet BOO lets his man have a totally unchallenged header which directly leads to Branco's foul.  You'd get pelters if you did that on a Sunday let alone at pro level.

I know Nathan spectacularly cocked up for their winner but he made an excellent run and pass to Norris who should have made it 2-0.  The difference from last season is that Ajose was putting that away 9 times out of 10.

I don't rate BOO at all. Brophy is inconsistent but offers so much more.
