It's all about merchandise and selling the brand. Short term loans/deals for that country's star player to be in the side to sell more.

Whatever next? Teams invited to be in their league and no relegation or promotion if you don't fit their business criteria? We'll soon be in the American Football mode where teams can be bought and moved to a whole new city at the drop of a hat.
