Depends how it was presented really. If we led them on as if they were paying his wages, we'd be in the wrong. If we've presented an overall fee, taking into account wages and a premium, then I don't see what the fuss is about. Shouldn't be made public in any case.

Power stated we agreed a fee and they pulled out making them the villains, but seems it may be us trying to pull the wool over their eyes. I bet St Mirren covering his train fair or he'd be on the Megabus.

I suspect they agreed a weekly fee thinking it was reasonable, then discovered how little of that was actually being paid out for Storey's salary... Shrewd business from LP...

Bit of chatter on Twitter about Michael Smith to Bournemouth. I don't buy it myself.

Not really shrewd business if the deal collapsed and we are paying the wages of someone we aren't going to play.....But I get what you mean.

Why is the default setting to believe Northampton rather than Power?

They shouldn't be allowed to spend a penny on transfers with their disgraceful debt levels.

Yes, they're just 'eyeing' him apparently. One of those strange phrases you only tend to read in the tabloid press.

The adver can defend themselves as much as they like but this story would never have been reported in this format a few years ago.
Still, I'm looking forward to their new updated Page 3 format next week....

How would they have presented it? Looks like your standard Adver quiet time non-story to me. Town's interest in Clayton Donaldson remains the most farcical of recent seasons.

Nothing wrong with that story, maybe, just maybe someone from the Adver bumped into/knows a Bolton scout
<insert Bayden Powell/Bear Grills joke here>

Admittedly it's the headline again I suppose. Total non story I agree. We've had plenty of scouts at the ground all season. If Thompson goes to Bolton in January then Audrey will get another tattoo in a ridiculous place.
