Ok, I've got some money lying around, so I think I'll get one.  I'm just looking around at prices, most places seem to be about £185, except Amazon which is £175 (but you have to wait 4-6 weeks for delivery). But do you think that it would be worth me buying one from an American retailer because of the pound to dollar exchange rate, and if so how much cheaper do you rekon it would work out?

get the normal one, they're tiny anyway, plus many times the storage.

Don't bother with the ipod mini - they're for girls

Spend the extra on a proper one!

Just found this. Practically the same price but 16GB more storage.  I suppose that 4GB isn't a lot when you think about it, 1000 songs, the equivalent of about 50 albums. I've given in to peer pressure and decided 20GB ipod is the way forward Cheesy

I bought an I-pod from the states...got it for £180. The thing is I had friends going over soI got them to get me one! Shipping would only be about 30 quid, so you'd save a little bit of money!!
