There are beer festivals coming up everywhere!

I recommend Devizes at the start of July.

If you can get a driver over the weekend one of the pubs in Devizes, The Southgate, has a beer festival all weekend - very laid back with a good choice of beers and a BBQ.

Apparently there's a beer festival thing at the Glue Pot over Easter Weekend.

This one isn't the CAMRA run one. Apparently it's a fairly new event held in a church somewhere.

The one in the church on Bath Road in Old Town only started last year I think, but a mate said it was good if that's the one you're thinking of?

Was thinking of going to that but the word on the street is that it is not very good. Has anyone been to one there before?

my uncle went to it last year, said it was alright. the highlight was his pal asking why it wasn't over both saturday and sunday

Doesn't the Glue Pot have a permanent beer festival on?  Any pub that, as a minimum, has 8 or more real ales on draft gets my vote.   ;D

No idea to be honest, like Ardiles says, they already have a pretty decent array of ales anyway, so a one pub beer festival just sounds like a ploy to get more punters in :)
I am possibly going in there on Monday before the match, we'll see.

Went to the Christ Church one last time and it was pretty good with 15 beers in each alcove each side of the altar. I commented to the vicar that the last time I walked towards the altar was some 28 years ago as a scout for church parade! Haven't they put it on Cup Final day though?

This is the GluePot's first beer festival, and they've got 17 beers (I think, either 16, 17 or 18) beers on, as well as a few ciders.

They've having the beers on from Friday so I'd be surprised if there's much left by Monday but you never know!

I'll be there on Saturday to sensibly sample and make notes like a good CAMRA member...

Edit:  just checked and they've got 22 beers, but only 18 on at any one time. 6 ciders and a perry and a pider too.  And Pieminister pies.  4,200 pints in stock so might well be some left by Monday!

Christchurch is on Cricklade St and is the church with the spire you can see from all over swindon (not least from the Arkells Stand) and the vicar, Simon Stevenette is the club chaplain....and the beer festival (new last year) is good.

Lets see if we can put a sizeable dent in that figure Saturday  :pint: .....like a good CAMRA member should.
