As he's into Wine Im tempted to buy him a botttle of Blue Nun from the lads and lasses at the Townend.Or some Buckys..  Is that the right name for the stuff Scottish folk? treacle wine/sherry stuff made monks or something?

The real alchies look for some number on the bottle that signifies when it was made, or the order it came out the vats, something like that.

Can't go wrong with an Irn Bru and a battered mars bar.

Blue Nun eh....now there's a blast from the past.....considered by some to represent the height of sophistication in the early to mid 70's.

I could only ever afford those cheap, sweet as sweet gets, fruit wines, favoured by dossers and alkys,  that decent offys used to have plastic barrells of and you took your own bottle.

Is that STFC Bird in the pic?

Ah, Black Tower...remember it well. Definitely a step up from Blue Nun (at least that's how I remember it!) Bull's Blood is another  from that Blue Nun/Black Tower era. Sadly I cannot post images so if some one could do the honours....
