Commentators said they expected to be beaten, but they didn't expect to be 7-0 down at half time. Also, the 8th goal was the first chance Swindon had in the 2nd half.

Not that it means that much, but I can't ever remember us being this far ahead at h/t in a friendly.
We were 7-0 up at HT vs Cirencester in 88 under Macari when we won 10-1.

8-0 up vs AFC Bredon at HT in 85 when we won 13-1.

Thats 2 that I remember for sure, might be a few more thoug.

Just checked RE: Norcia XI. We won 0 - 11 (eleven) but were only a lowly 0 - 6 up at HT.

I expect we'll just manage double figures today. Have done quite well in previous years betting on over goals for non descript pre-season friendlies. Like over 5.5 when a Wolves XI play Rugeley or something. Get around even money and most occasions this is an easy opportunity to just double whatever $$ you have spare. They often end up 6,7 or 8 to the good. Even the lesser side sometimes chip in with a consolation. Often when the "pro" side has thrown on about 8 trialists.

Always thought Craig Gordon would make a great striker, so was surprised to see him become a GK. Talking of GKs and relating to the 1 - 13 above. Today's GK for the hosts is Anthony Bre(e)don  Smiley

Colin Gordon was a far better stirker than Craig Gordon would ever be! Colin is a football agent now.

I remember not that long ago that Nuneaton were on the verge of the football league, certainly top half of the Conference.

Good win today, well done all.

As Duke says, you can only beat whats in front of you.

Be interesting to hear the names of the trialists that played and how well they played.

I did notice that the pictures on the OS tactfully avoided any of the trialists pictures.

That's not a tackle though is it, it's a side on block, studs are nowhere near the player.
