after a string of games where i got nowhere with swindon, liverpool, lillestrom, qpr, southampton and tried to make my own tactics, i decided to go for easy mode and downloaded some tactics and am playing as inter.
just won serie a with four games to go. in all competitions i've p47, w41, d4, l2.
it's quite fun :-)
I think that I may do the same, download a tactic that it. jvc65 can go on all he likes about cheating ect. but it just ain't no fun when you are constantly playing shite and you have no idea why. |

I was flying before I installed the new patch, no problems at all. Now I can't score and I'm getting around 5 bookings a game and I haven't changed my tactics at all. Grrr.

i don't see the big deal in cheating in single player games, you're not ruining it for anyone else. the tactic i'm using is this one. |

as inter, yes - but then that's not an accurate test. i lost one game out of 52 using that tactic.
i've had mixed succeses with it using qpr, lillestrom and swindon. it's quite dependent on having the right type of player for the position, so you may need to overhaul your squad. physical stats are quite important.
combine it with lots of opposition instructions and adapt which tactic to use depending on odds/form and you should do well.
i'll probably play another season as inter and start a challenging game.

I downloaded 2 tactics that have appeared to have lots of success, including Jims. My strikers scored less, i didnt win in 5 hours, i conceded more, and got sacked.
I hate FM.

in my game i was relegated from the prem after one season. finishing 2nd bottom.
Now won promotion back up via a playoff win against Bolton.
I'm still using the same tactic (tinkering with it every now and again) but i find myself in 10th place.
Only thing different this time is i'd done a fresh instal of Vista etc so coppied my save game back onto comp and carried on. Surely this wouldn't affect why i'm winning games would it???!!!

i give my first team players a rest after most matches, but its pretty excruciating right-clicking each of them to do so. there must be a quick way to do it?
on older versions there was a tick box in manager options for 'rest players the day after a match', which would be a start, but i think they've removed that?

you cant keep changing tactics willy nilly, you cant expect a tactic to work first game, find a tactic, stick with it for atleast 5 games. |

I am in February now with Swindon - not really signed anyone, just got a load of Premiership loanees to bolster my squad. Cox and Paynter up front are awesome, Cox has 18 and Paynter 16 goals. Ifil and Aljofree are rocks at the back but I am not very consistent and am loitering around mid to low table. In the regional final of the Leyland Daf and drew 1-1 at Millwall. I created a tactic which seems to be ok, but nothing special.
I haven't really read the rest of this thread but are there decent loanees, freebies I can get for Town that I should look out for?
